So thanks to the AWESOMENESS that is rockband Multitracks, I isolated the whispers, and this is what they say (to the best of my ability to listen closely)
(Audacity file posted below -- audacity is a free open-source audio editing tool for multiplatforms, you can download it for free.. google it) "So Dad would take the Sunday's off, and that's the only time he could ever get any rest, and so, because we were loud on Sundays, He'd make us hold his construction suits over our head, till we'd sleep and they were really heavy, and it only had one sleeve, but we'd start crying, because it's too heavy.. and..." As promised, here's the audacity project: http://www.mediafire.com/?zmdnmmlzydx

The whispers in Everlong are three different vocal tracks saying three different things.

After going back and listening to the studio version, it seems like it's three different things because of the way it's mixed, and the flipping of audio channels (Left and Right) as he speaks. There's no other whispering on any other tracks than the two posted above, during that point in the song.

No he's right. One of them was a janitor from the studio's letter to his father...it sounds like that could be the one you tried to decode, but you didn't quite get it.

It's no more infringing than the bootlegs in the recordings forum; its not the entire multitrack, literally 10 seconds of whispers, if it's a big deal, the mods can edit it out.

I think I prefer not knowing.
And wasting my own time listening to it pretending I could possibly decifer it.

According to Dave there are three different whispers whispering three different things. He answered the question about what he as saying years ago -- not word for word, but the gist of what each of the three tracks was saying. I'm sure someone here can post Dave's direct quote.

I agree with Vector boy, for whatever reason there only appears to be one whispering track on these rock band files. Most of it is very easy to make out, and that wouldn't be possible with more than one track.
Either Dave is telling porkies, or they left some of the whispers out of these rock band tracks. Remember the original multis would be 24-Track, these Rock Band ones have been merged down to 14.

I got this from it:
so dad would take the sunday's off and that's the only time he could ever get any rest and so if we were loud on sundays he'd make us hold his construction suits over our head till we'd sleep and they were really heavy and it only had one sleeve but we'd start crying because it's too heavy also, I love rock band

Anyone notice that Rock Band fucked around with RHCP's Breaking the Girl?
In the beginning they added drums that are not in the official track. Just something to think about. First 6 seconds. No reason they couldn't, wouldn't or didn't fuck around with any other tracks. |

Yes but the song doesn't start with the hi-hat. If it did, that'd be a totally different story. |

Even if it was added by RB, don't you think it's easier to add in that little part than a whole vocal backing track?
