What does everyone think about the band coming out and supporting HIV Denial?
I have to say that I'm thoroughly disappointed. I have, for the time being, suspended my "fan-ship" of the band until they get off this conspiracy theory nonsense. This is just as bad as, if not worse than, Tom Cruise and his Scientology garbage.Actually telling people to stop taking their HIV medications... saying that it's causing AIDS??? This is putting people's lives at risk! There will be, inevitably, gullible people (HIV Positive people) who actually believe this and will stop taking their medications because the Foo Fighters said so. Not because modern, scientific western medicine said so. People will DIE because of this. It's not just some cool, rebellious new cause to get out there and get behind. This is outright lying, at the expense of the lives of human beings. They have the link in their official causes page... they link to aliveandwell. org. The main group behind this HIV denialist nonsense. |

This has been brought up by so many people in the last few years so i'll just point you to those threads instead of repeating what has been said 100 times over.

Yes, it was something that one of the band members was a believer of, however, there is no more mention of it in the causes section.
If you want to turn in your Foo Fan Club card over something that is almost 10 years old, be my guest. What the guys believe or not believe in shouldn't effect how their music sounds. Odd.
