My mum was seeing a copper briefly. I'm glad that didnt go anywhere. Hahah.
My personal favourite is my men digging sign, cause the night i stole it, i fell off a stage and i have no idea how i managed to walk home with that too.

It really is amazing the things you can achieve when pissed. Usually things you couldn't do sober.

Do you just take a pair of plyers and a screwdriver on a night out or just rip them off? :p

Just rip the bastard off. Or hit it until it comes off. Generally, most of my signs are quite damaged. :D

I tend to use the brute force approach to stealing signs, but every now an again when you see one you just have to have and the buggers have done a proper good job of putting it up you may need instruments! I have an excelent collection of the flashy lights you find on temporary barriers:D

Everlong is a manly song. :)

Queens... not as far as I know, they don't play in drop-c... they tune their guitars down to C, there is a difference. ;) To "drop tune" means to slacken the bottom E string (the thickest one) to D (ie, Everlong) but you can do pretty much any note you want if you can work with it - B (One Way Mule by Silverchair) or A (Stacked Actors) are other examples.

To downtune, like Queens do, means tuning everything down 2 whole steps in relation so standard tuning of EADGBe becomes C-F-A#-D#-G-C (or C-F-Bb-Eb-G-C because they're the same, A# is the same as Bb).

:)

Examples of manly drop-d songs:

Lots of Pantera stuff including Walk and 5 Minutes Alone.
Lots of Silverchair stuff including Freak, Israel's Son and Pure Massacre.
Killing In The Name by RATM
Hummer by Smashing Pumpkins
Domain by EndEveR ;)

... and so on. WIN FOR ME!

Thank you for the clarification, sir.;)
So am I correct in saying Tension Head is played in drop D? Because that's my favourite Queens choon ever. :)

Ooh, that's my second fave - after Quick And To The Pointless. :)

As far as I'm aware, Tension Head (like 99% if not all Queens songs pre-LTP) was played in C tuning. You can play it in standard though but it doesn't sound as heavy.

Depends how complicated you want to make it I guess!

My friend bought his domain name and then designed just one page, uploaded the image to flickr and then linked it to his site. The page doesn't do anything special but obviously it was really easy to do.

When I did mine, it was fairly easy to pick up bits as you go along. If you take on the challenge, you have no choice but to get annoyed when things don't work and then find a way to sort it out!!!

If you are handy with photoshop that is always a good easyish way to make a site. Design it how you want it to look, then you can just slice it for the web, selecting the areas you want text to be and such.

Thats basically how FFL was done, albeit with more advanced coding than the HTML photoshop originally kicks out. I then editing and built all the content onto the image with Dreamweaver.

February 6th 2008, 02:17 PM
Basically, my site started out as this, this is purely all graphics done in Photoshop:

http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hpqy8.jpg

Then when you're done designing, there is a tool that you use to basically save it as images and a page of code. You have to mark out all the parts you want to add tables and such first though, so for my site that was the top section, the main light brown section and a bit at the bottom. The rest of the site is made up of the sliced images.

I then went alot further and used PHP to code certain parts of the site and also used a lot of includes, but none of that is neccesary.

Stupert, you're the kind of person that if I met in real life you'd make me laugh lots until I died, of laughter. I met someone like that the other day, he proper made me laugh until I was doubled up at times.

I want to leave work and go and buy a dress but alas I must sit here trying to remember what log of a number means.

Snoop Dogg is my current favourite chocolate-face.

Ah this has certainly been a productive morning, I've spent the last half hour or so using a school guillotine bladey thing to cut up the demo covers that I photocopied in school last night :D I also burned 50 copies last night while the footie was on and printed the cd covers themselves on my lunch yesterday.

Me and the lads are off to watch Cloverfield tonight so, after that, it's time to assemble the demos and whoopa, I'll be finished one day early.

WELL DONE, WIGGLES!!!
