Has anyone ever had... whatever it is I have? How long does this sort of thing take to get over? Tickets for the Hives go on sale tomorrow for a show in April and I really want to go. It's 3 months away so I don't know if I'll be able to handle it by then or not :(

I suppose I could look for someone to chaparone me, so to speak. I doubt they'll sell out straight away so I have a bit of time to ask around I guess.
This is the reason I very rarely go out - I can't stand being in large groups of people, yet for some strange reason, I can do gigs. Couldn't say why. I would definitely recommend going with someone if you do go - but try and get someone who you'd trust to be sensible with you, and not just take the piss out of you. Hang off on buying the tickets for a bit until you get some kind of forward momentum on trying to calm yourself down a bit. It will get better, but it will take a bit of time.

Some of the lyrics on that album are well suspect and soppy.

Sorry Dan I went and didn't see this.They're known as porters in hospitals and the site Kerry gave you NHS Jobs (http://www.jobs.nhs.uk/) is the best one.Some places have porters doing security too like A&E departments so there's a variety of things you can end up doing.

I'm trying to decide whether I want to go into work tomorrow when I feel sick (again).

I'm a little concerned really, I seem to be getting colds at the drop of a hat and I don't know why. I was off the last week before christmas and now I'm fucked again. I think this is about my 5th or 6th bad head cold in the last 6 months, way too high - I'm gonna end up in fucking trouble in work.

And the first person to say "IT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE A MAN!" gets a kick right in the minge, I'm not claiming it's life-threatening or flu or anything so piss off. :D

Well i was in an Admin job from January - July last year, pretty much a receptionist (i got a bit of stick for that!), but the place i was working for was a non-profit charity organisation and ran out of funding, and we couldn't secure anymore, so it had to close.

After July i decided i would take a few months out, do a few things, but now it's 6 months on and i really need something else in a similar role hopefully, admin/office that type of thing.

Yeah funnily enough it was a place to promote healthier eating in the area. We ran workshops to help people to cook more healthily, had activites for kids, weight loss programme, that sorta thing. It was the best job i'd had, i loved it, the people i worked with were great.

I just hope i find something just as good soon. The problem was/is is that when i left school i went to college to do a car mechanic course for two years, which i passed and got a qualification from, but then i decided it just wasn't what i wanted to do, so when i went into this new area i didn't have any post school relevant qualifications, although i do now have experience.

I had this problem last year. I just had a continuous cold from about February to September. When I eventually went into the Doctors (I'm a bit useless at doing this), she said it was because I was run down, I wasn't giving myself the chance to heal. I had to get to bed earlier, get more vitamins in me, that kind of thing. It did actually work. I was staying up every night randomly doing stuff, not getting enough sleep, and all that, and as soon as I started sleeping more, then I got better. Now, everytime, I start not sleeping for a bit, I get ill again.

So basically, you need to sleep.

I feel your pain. I have only ever had cystits twice but it was horrendous.

I did once get a Kidney infection through having to much sex. That was awful. I collapsed in Woollies of all places. My ex had to carry me into a taxi and take me straight to a hospital. Before that happened, I didnt know that your supposed to have a pee after sex!

I had this problem last year. I just had a continuous cold from about February to September. When I eventually went into the Doctors (I'm a bit useless at doing this), she said it was because I was run down, I wasn't giving myself the chance to heal. I had to get to bed earlier, get more vitamins in me, that kind of thing. It did actually work. I was staying up every night randomly doing stuff, not getting enough sleep, and all that, and as soon as I started sleeping more, then I got better. Now, everytime, I start not sleeping for a bit, I get ill again.

So basically, you need to sleep.

That sounds exactly like what I do - stay up til 2am for no reason then I'm sleeping until 7 and then getting up for work.

£500!!!!!

There is no way in holy motherfucking hell that we have used £500 water in the last 6 months, the previous tennant got a 12-month bill that was just under a grand and reported that he was convinced there was a leak somewhere... this has just confirmed that, no fucking way.

Needless to say, this has made me (A) freak out and (B) get really fucking pissed off. I'm gonna ring my Dad tonight (he works for the local council on energy matters) and see what he reckons.

Exactly, we do normal stuff - three showers a day, washing the dishes, flushing the bog and the odd bath now and then. £500 would imply week-long water fights or some shit.

Our meter is outside, the readings mean little or nothing to us although we need to test it - all you do is take the reading before you go to bed and then again in the morning making sure that no toilets have been flushed, no taps run or anything that uses water and then compare the readings. If no water has been used but the meter has changed, then obviously there's a leak.

I wish we paid a flat water rate, it's much better and works out cheaper in the long run.

Well our estimated bill (for Thames' finest I might add) is £57 a month *edit* paid over 10 months for 12 months of water and that's for 3 of us. My housemate takes for-ever in the shower. Has a good 40 minutes in there every day. That does sound like a whole lot of lolly to me.
