a Bosch universal drill set (drill not included)

Baby G watch (has anybody actually worn one since 2000?)

A heart rate monitor

a selection of manky perfumes and aftershaves

a fruit / bread basket

2 different types of kitchen scales

and my personal favorite, a corkscrew and bottle stopper set.

Theres nothing in there that I can even order to palm off on some one for a prezzie.

I've enjoyed bands less and less as they've gotten more and more media coverage. A good example would be Biffy Clyro - they started off really alternative, weird time signatures, really raw, aggressive sound and now they've gone to America, worked with some mainstream producers and turned into a very "safe" band with a more radio-friendly, mainstream sound.

I don't hate them but I don't like them anywhere near as much as I used to.

With arctic monkeys I just think that the whole nme coverage changed their fan base. I remember when I saw them play shall we say 'before the hype' they were good live, and the people who wen to their gigs liked them. In comes all the hype and their gig in the LCCC in Manchester and it was just a joke. Thousands upon thousands of people were there, I was quite near the front and no one knew most of their songs. Only singing along with dancefloor, and mardy bum. Its like people were at the gig cos it was the place to be not cos they'd wanted to see that band.

Having said that I still like them, why I'm not quite sure, and I'm going to see them tonight. I don't hold out anyhope of there being a decent crowd, but if they play a good set I'll be happy.

Word, I thought they were awesome. Reading 2004 (I think) was a rubbish headlining set though, The Offspring were on before them and they got the same time. The Darkness should've got 45 minutes and then a mammoth 2+ hours for The Offspring.

I doubt it. Whenever I got a 2500 word limit, we were always told it's a guideline meaning that's the absolute max but at least 1500 would be expected but, at the end of the day, it's quality not quantity. You could pad it out with filler and garbage but then you're just watering down the quality of your work.

I was told that its a guideline and that as long as your about 10% either side of it your OK. Even if your not with in the 10%, they wont fail you, they may just take some marks off but even that is unlikely. One of my lecturer's told me that they don't even monitor word count.

Shug and Duck are very Stokey sayings.

At work all they say is "shug" and i think it's just an abbreviated "sugar"

afternoon gang,

well the modem hasn't arrived so i have no way of getting online tomorrow morning so i may be looking for 2 favours on thursday morning. even if i could open the del. boy i cant get on a pc till the afternoon so its proper fucked. i can pay in wine gums, cold hard cash or beer tokens - whatever flies.
