Fucking maximo park or razorlight could sell it out in 5 months, it's all about selling out in XX minutes.

I know the feeling, I would have been happy to wait and so would my bank manager, but we are all whipped up into a frenzy (radio, prompoters) and don't mention the ticket t**ts. So we have to do it. The industry needs to take a long hard look at itself. I am not whinging, I probably got to 70-80 gigs a year and a couple of festivals, but I have to say I am getting a bit f'd off with the way bands are willing to sell out to the promoters and then they have the nerve to stick all these fees on top. Anyway rant rant rant I will still go to gigs but may be just a few less....

They decided to announce a 2nd show a few hours after the ticket release of the 1st show. Everyone was quite shocked and the rumours of a 3rd show have already started, but I don't think it'll happen if the download rumours are true.

...come to think of it, Download fest is probably the reason the tickets were released so early. Wait til Feb/March and festival goers will be umming and arring over which to go to, but sell the foo tickets early and there'll probably be quite a few people buying tickets to foos forgetting it clashes with Download.

Anyway.

Footie's finished so I'm gonna go for a shower, then off to meet Kat in town, pick up some train tickets for next weekends Bristol/Manchester QOTSA-extravaganza :D and then grab some scran and off to the Academy for the gig.

To cut a long story short, it ended up in a full on boxing match. The police were called and he was removed. I have put all his clotheds in to a bin bag and I am contemplating pouring bleach over them. There's a way around this. Open up a business account with a bank (some student business of some sort relating to your course) and pay for the flights through that. Claim the tax back at the end of the tax year. Done.

It might cost a small amount to set up, but you can then buy all your tickets (prizes for employee incentives ;)), all your textbooks and stationary (office supplies ;)) and other such goods (food - lunch for the office ;)) and claim the VAT back as a business expense. At the end of the year you could find yourself £500-£1000 a year better off.

Make friends with an decent business student or ask some of our business owning boardies.
