Any band people post are just ideas, nobody knows at this stage, not even the band.

I'd like NIN, Arcade Fire and a Foo acoustic set.

Because:
A) NIN are ace
B) It'd be awesome to see AF play a stadium
C) Foos REALLY should listen to their own advice and not playing acoustic and electric in the same set.

tres bon - hope you got what you wanted...?

Also, hope you spare a thought for the poor soul trapped on the tube on his/her way home after a day in the shitty little office being bullied by a boss with bad breath and poor fashion sense and all that they had to look forward to was the small crumb of joy that they had secured tickets to see their favourite band, the foo fighters, earlier that morning - and they were taking their 1 legged blind child who has yearned to be a rockstar since he was born and then abandoned and eventually picked up by a group of pikeys and used in a travelling circus till the age of 12. So the journey ends at the 'victims' squalid flat and when he finally gets to log onto his 256 dial up service he finds that his tickets have been sent back and sold to someone else. he spares a glance into the smelly rat infested kitchen at the bottle of asda domestos and the 50 paracetamol on the worktop and thinks............

Cool thanks Stu. I got home last night to find my internet is fucked so can't get online until VirginMedia come and hook me up. What with the n00bs crashing it yesterday I'm totally lost... Anyone got any recommendations if I were thinking of ditching VM? I'm lost without the tinterweb!

I'm with www.bethere.co.uk (http://www.bethere.co.uk) and they're brilliant!! I was all sorted, start to finish, in a week, the service is incredibly fast, very reliable so far (4 months in and no problems that related to them), the router they send you for free is actually very good despite looking like a Tonka toy.

My only gripe would be that their call centres are not UK-based or not populated by UK people but that's the case for most places now innit. Thankfully, I've only had one problem and that was because the telephone was causing interference on the phoneline and needed an extra microfilter.

It might even top RHCP's official world record gig revenue (Hyde Park).

One of the reasons the tickets will be as much as they are (and contemplate this for a second...) is that booking an event at Wembley will probably cost double in fees for the band/label upfront, purely because of how much the owners of the stadium will charge, given how much it cost to build. Obviously, some of it is added on by the band/label, but i honestly do believe that the bulk of it is Owner related.

Chili's are in the Guinness (yummmm) Book of Records at £14.1m for those shows.

I work the Foo shows out at £7.92m (i did it based upon an avg ticket price of £44 - majority at £42.50 and a few at £49.50).

Of course, there's a shitload of deductables. I'm not arsed about how much they take home to be honest and i'd be a hypocrite if i was - increased gas and electric prices have boosted my wage at the customers cost.

Yeah I love the band too, so I suppose that's why it kind of detracts from the experience when they're just churning out the singles and the audience is full of knobs who really don't have a clue. 100000s of people want to be at this show because they've tuned into Radio 1 who have (apparently) been hyping this up into the BEST THING EVER, with Dave Grohl quoted on that for good measure.

Yeah Wembley Stadium is pretty good and special etc etc, even in the highest stands you have a decent view of the whole thing (at least, I did when I went to a football game there) but it doesn't mean it's going to be a great show - unless you're just saying that because "Dave says so". Hyde Park was one of the worst Foo Fighters shows I've seen, it just made me cringe, and I don't see how this is going to be much different.

And no, it would just be nice if they played something for the people that actually care about their music. Like on this tour, with Wattershed and Weenie Beenie. But those songs would probably go down like a sack of shit at Wembley - they're just not radio-friendly enough.

Apologies if this post is a bit disjointed, I'm tired.

09/11 - Glasgow @ 12,500
06/11 - Birmingham @ 13,000
05/11 - Newcastle @ 11,000
03/11 - Manchester @ 21,000

= 136,000.

You could split that into three sections: Scotland and North-East (Aberdeen, Glasgow and Newcastle), North (Manchester, Cardiff, Sheffield and Birmingham) and South (2 x London and Nottingham) or something similar and play three one-off gigs at football stadiums with lower ticket prices and a less wanky stage setup to keep the costs sensible and it'd be a helluva lot more special.

Why will it be great? OMGZ BECOZ DA FOO FIGHTERS!!!

Because Dave said so? People in the upper tiers are still gonna see bugger all!! Don't be so naive.

Yeah, actually, some Spice Girls would be ace - AT LEAST IT WOULD SHOW SOME VARIETY!! Paul Gilbert did a brilliant cover of Two Become One. :D

OMG TEH DAVE GROHLZ HE WAS IN NIRVANANNNA!

I think itll be a great gig because there last show was amazing, front row i enjoyed it, so if i can get where i am standing again at this show i think itll be just as great, i enjoy the songs, and i dont care if they play the same set list its damn good in my opinion, to see the album songs live so dont give me your high horse..wow noobie he loves teh grohl...bla bla.

I will enjoy this gig, and thats all i care about.

Let's see... :D

(As much as possible, capacities taken from official sites.)

18/11 - London @ 20,000
17/11 - London @ 20,000
14/11 - Nottingham @ 10,000
13/11 - Cardiff @ 7,500
12/11 - Sheffield @ 12,500
10/11 - Aberdeen @ 8,500
09/11 - Glasgow @ 12,500
06/11 - Birmingham @ 13,000
05/11 - Newcastle @ 11,000
03/11 - Manchester @ 21,000

= 136,000.
Now take that to Wembley's capacity times 2 = 180,000

Plus you have to take into consideration the reduced arena capacities because of the Acoustic stage and runways.

I'd guestimate about 120,000 for arenas. Hellova difference.

1. You wont get the same setlist you saw last time, there'll be even more singles, and less old songs.
2. You wont get the same place. Round stage = "I can see Dave! ... Now I can see Chris!"

Exactly, a venue is rarely gonna be at maximum capacity for a venue because they often don't open the very upper-side tiers because you wouldn't see... and there's closed seats behind the stage.

This was fun. :D

2. You wont get the same place. Round stage = "I can see Dave! ... Now I can see Chris!"

I'm really not gonna feel too guilty if I end up touting these tickets later on. I made a loss on all the tour ones I sold, so I think I'm allowed.

And if they announce My Chemical Romance as support, it'll be even sweeter ripping off some 15 year old twat.

I feel sorry for the Foo crew. They got fucked up the arse with the 2 stage set up this time round. They're going to have their work cut-out with this round stage with a million ramps and shit. It's not going to feel like they're performing as a unit anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if they added yet another date to make the hassle more worthwhile. But whatever, I want to see it so I bought tickets. I have great memories from other Foo shows which I'm sure will surpass these Wembley dates... but I have never had a bad time at a Foo show because of the company I've gone with :D

:)

BeThere is owned by 02 now

nPower do Wembley's gas and electric. BOOOOOOOOO.

but EDF own the network.

oh, and if anyone cares i'm disgusted that they've announced a second show, but it does prove that they're not playing download. because the sunday headliner is usually someone Epic like MEtallica, the foos would get bottled off if they was the sunday headliner

They're still ace though - great speed for a fantastic price.

I know it's a totally different scale of band, but:

Less Than Jake.
6 gigs in 6 nights.
Astoria 2 aka Mean Fiddler.
One album in it's entirety per night including b-sides and rarities.

That is the very definition of "doing it for the fans"... and it cost £75 for all 6 tickets. Best bargain evereverever.
