Yeah, I'm not sure the secret gig is the one that would be foos. Think it's more likely to be this Thurs or Fri seeing as those two dates have been left open. It may not even be this venue, but I have a hunch that it might.

I can't see the band premiering the new stuff for Radio. Personally, I'd rather hear tracks for the first time in their studio version.

I'd hope also that they don't play more new stuff, so we at least get to see some photo's from the gig. I think that's why they were being very strict with cameras at the Dingwalls show... they didn't want the first leak of The Pretender being some crappy, low-res live version.

yeah, seen him a few times now and its slowly been turning into a jam session rather than him turning up and playing say 15 songs.

overall the performance was the usual superb standard but there were just toooo many bits of songs. i've just been on the 3121 site and read a review and it must list 25+ songs - it just doesnt mention that it was the first verse and chorus of half of them.

.....but i'd still go and see him again at the drop of a (purple) hat.

Do you know if that was recent? I've had a look online, and from what I can make out, in recent years (I don't know if I'm wrong in assuming this is only held once a year), it's been an online registration. The website would allow people to log their interest for about a week, then would select winners.

Also, do you know how long they announced it before the tickets were actually released? I'm not entirely sure the beeb would want to encourage people to speed across a heavily populated city ;)

God I can't remember exactly when it was. It happened before IYH was released cos I have a bootleg of The Last Song which they premiered there. And it's where Dave wrote Skin and Bones so we're talking about a couple of years ago now.

There was quite a bit of notice for the tickets though I seem to remember, but didn't pay much attention after finding out that you needed to turn up and queue. It was a bit far for me being an Essex bird and all!

Loads. Any first Capital Connect station (on some services you need to change though which literally entails stepping off the train and waiting for the next one.)

So let's see... Kentish Town, Kings Cross, Farringdon, Blackfriars, City Thameslink and other stations south of the river which I'm not sure about.

Trains run out of Victoria too, but all services seem to take about the same amount of time. I went there a couple of weeks ago for the first time.

Victoria to Brighton, stops at Clapham Junction and East Croydon along the way, takes around 50 mins from London. That's the train I used to take when I was at uni in Brighton. Otherwise there's a train that goes from London Bridge to Brighton, and one from Kings cross to Brighton. There may be other services too but those are the ones I know of.

Yep. Bumper cars and badly put together rollercoasters are the main attractions on the pier. There's a nice pub on the pier too which has a beer garden, which is quite funny...a garden on a pier. Heh.
