I was just playing this song on my acoustic yesterday. One of my favorites off of the first album.

I like this one, but I am anxious to see the Youtube clip, since I have only heard the CD version. I now have plans for tonight. LOL

I've got hundreds of live bootlegs of this song. This has to be one of my favorite Foo Fighters songs. It's also a sweet closer live. I just absolutley love the guitar riff.

Excellent tune. Definitely one of the best of the first album.

I'm curious to know if the bootleg actually exists that the dude on youtube mentions. First I've heard of it and I've never read anything that mentions it being demoed during the In Utero sessions, but I suppose it's possible.

He's talking rubbish, no such thing exists, however it is highly rumoured that they played around with something similar to Exhausted in 1993 soundchecks. That and Alone + Easy Target are apparantly songs of Dave's that Kurt liked.

There is also the 1994 Robert Lang session (When You Know You're Right was recorded) where Dave recorded some of these songs, and Kurt again said he liked Dave's music.

Finally it's also rumoured that Kurt loved Exhausted but was too shy to ask Dave if he could write his own lyrics to it.

It's in my top 5 Foo songs and is one of the first songs I learnt on bass.

When I was walking from the tram stop to the arena in Sheffield in 2007, I heard them soundchecking the song and almost shit my pants with excitement and anticipation. Sadly it never came up (we got 'Wattershed' though ), but videos of the song being performed back in the 90's are just insanely good.

Awesome tune.

One of my favourite Foo Fighters songs. It needs to be brought back live.

Love it, it's one of my favs, like alot of ppl already said, I wouldn't mind seeing them bringing it back into the setlist. Beautiful acoustic as well... it's a song that can put me to sleep.

What if the day had stayed in bed....

A great "ending" song, however you look at it. The distortion and somberness really makes it for me.

this is a fantastic song that seems to be really underrated; I love it to pieces but I somehow always forget about it
definitely agree on bringing it back in the set list as well

Definitely one of my faves, if not favorite album song.

I love playing it on acoustic...one of the first Foo songs i ever heard (before S/T came out on a "nirvana--one year later" kurt special. They played it with Gas Chamber.

I can't figure out what the lyrics mean (if they mean anything) for the life of me, but damn I love this song. I love that album, I listen to it like every week.

A great song with an incredible riff. I actually prefer the acoustic version. This song was my theme for a brief period when I was working at a grocery and would have to wake up at 5am and drive into work in the dark. The line; "What if the day had stayed in bed?" became the crux of my thought process more than a few times.
