The Last Song backing vocals?

I need some help solving a disagreement, and I was hoping you fine folks could help me out (my apologies if this has been discussed--I searched the board and found no topics on this matter).

A friend of mine is convinced that Shiflett sings backing vocals on "The Last Song" studio recording (repeating the "This is the last song..." lyric). I am 99.9% sure that it's Dave singing--can someone please clear this up? Thanks in advance.

its just that with chris, his mic isn't set up or he sings it funky to where you really can't hear him sing it.

Neato, I've never seen it played live but just from all the recordings I can only pick out Chris.
