Holy Cranoly....I have given birth to a monster of a thread.

So, to catch up...I'm hitting up NIN and COldplay in Ottawa and I could not live without my 20gb Ipod. If I win some more money online I think I will be upgrading to a 20 or 30 gig video. My 20 is practically full.

Can't wait till the acoustic dates are announced.

If I could afford one of those ipods that hold that much I would, but I don't really have that kind of cash. lol

This is a huge thread DoubleM, thanks for starting it. It's my favourite place on this postboard. It's kinda weird though because, we talk to each other, but we don't really know each other. It's all good though.

I'm also waiting for those acoustic dates. They should be announcing them soon, shouldn't they? When do you guys predict they'll announce the dates?

Wow, this thread was on page 3!! Anyway, I don't know when they are going to announce acoustic dates, but I sure hope soon. Hopefully by the end of March :)

Did everyone hear about Pearl Jam's new self-titled album due out May 2nd? I'm looking forward to that! And a huge tour too.

Hey you guys!!!!! What happened to this thread????? lol I thought we would never abandon it. Anyways, I am so excited I am headed off to Ireland and Scotland in less than a week (I leave on the 9th!!!!). I am flying out of Toronto, so I guess that has some relevance to this thread.
Anyways, I was just wondering if you guys think that the Foos will release any tour dates over the March Break time???? I just don't want to get back from Europe to find out that they've already announced the dates, and I can't get good tickets. If by chance they do announce dates, could somebody get me 2 tickets??? lol I promise I would pay you back, and give you something extra for doing something so nice for me.
I also know there are so good shows coming up here in London (Dallas Green, NIN), so let me know how those go.

Hey I know its a bit off topic (really we haven't been on Topic in months on this thread) but I'm a little worried about NIN cancelling tomorrow. I know that a couple of people here were pumped to see them in Ottawa and Trent is sick. They have had a couple of days off so hopeully he is better. I'm sure they will make up the date and I guess its better to wait then have a shitty preformance. But yeha I'm really pumped to see them. I've had a bad few weeks and was totally looking forward to a release. My ticket whoa's continue also.....I totally have a feeling that I'm gonna get screwed at the door.....I have my fingers crossed.....but teh ways things have been going lately....it just might happen.

I was soooooo pissed the show got cancelled in Ottawa.
Was looking forward to it all week. Supposedly they are not re-scheduling the Ottawa gig. I did get to go see Wintersleep instead though but, I was realy hyped to see NIN again.

On the official site it says Postponed until further notice... so hopefully they will reschedule it. That would just suck if they didn't! I'm hoping tonight's show in London isn't cancelled. No word on their official site, so that sounds good. I'm getting quite excited actually even though my seats aren't the greatest... I hope Trent is more interactive this time, last time I saw them he only said "Thank You" like once or twice and that was it for talking to the audience!

Yeha my buddy just sent me a message saying it was still a go in London. And laughed at me for missing my show. You guys will enjoy them, were amazing when I seen them with QOTSA in November.

This is not really the place for this but I shall share my thoughts and some highlights from the NIN show Last night. I was really looking forward to this show. I caught NIN in Detroit and then in T.O. in November. Both were unreal shows. I'd say the T.O show was 2nd on my best of concert list of last year (right behind the Foo at Lee's Palace). So I had some high expectations for this one. I've also had a rough past few weeks. So it would be nice to be able to just forget everything and only be concerned with some smaller thoughts like what song will they play next or wonder if they will smash their guitar during this song. I had a single floor ticket that as I have posted here before has caused me more then a few headaches. So I decided I would head over early to the JLC (I live a block from it). I wanted to be able to catch Saul Williams. I'm not really sure why I wanted to see him, but I'm sure glad I did. By the time I got into the Venue and finally on the Floor Saul had gone on. Being by myself I decided why not try to get as close as I can and experience it. In Detroit I sat Straight Back in the first row. So it was just like standing at the very very back of the floor, then In T.O. I was in the Fan Club seats to the right side of the stage. I can say being on the floor where I was (slightly to the right side of the stage, about 20 feet back, just on the edge of the pit) was the best view I've had yet. Anyway back to Saul Williams. I was blown away at how good he is. I don't really want to call him a rapper, but I guess if you had to classify him that might be the best title. His rhymes were intelligent, political, relevant and tight. His delivery was amazing. Most rappers have shitty delivery and that kills me. But him...unreal. At one point I think he freestyled acapella. If it was a freestyle it was amazing, if not...still amazing. I'd recommend him to anyone and if I had of had the cash last night I would have bought his Cd. This all from a guy that constantly says "I hate Rap music" (I don't hate all of it...just about 98%). Keep an open mind and check out his website. http://www.saulwilliams.com/ I thought he was amazing, but others might not agree (overheard as I was walking home "Who was that opening band? they were shit" too each their own I guess)

Ok on to NIN. The crowd on the floor filled up and many looked that they wanted to head to the Pit. I've had my pit days....they are now behind me. For my $70 I want to catch everything that happens on stage and not be worried about being run over by some dude with bad tattoos and covered in sweat. It was along break (about 35 minutes) between Williams and NIN but it was worth it.....here's the Set list....

1. Pilgrimage
2. mr self destruct
3. Sin
4. terrible lie
5. the line begins to blur
6. march of the pigs
7. the frail
8. the wretched
9. closer
10. burn
11. gave up
12.eraser
13. right where it belongs
14. beside you in time
15. piggy
16. wish
17. only
18. every day is exactly the same
19. Reptile
20. Suck
21. Hurt
22. The hand that feeds
23. Head like a hole

Part two

They came right out and rawked it. Trent's voice sounded fine. there was some passion there for sure. Looks like he himself was a little pissed that he had to cancel some shows and just wanted to get back to it. My first highlight came during "Sin". Trent smashed his guitar over his mic stand. I don't know why I love watching bands destroy their shit just do. The next highlight was "March Of The Pigs". It got the crowd worked into frenzy and I think everyone noticed this. Including Aaron North who decided that stage diving into the crowd was a good idea. I think the crowd almost tore him apart. He might have changed his mind by the time he got back up on stage. He looked kinda freaked. Closer, just like the past two times I have seen it, just seemed like they were running through the motions. It didn't lack the intensity that other songs did, but the crowd loved it anyway. Nails has a curtain that comes down, it’s sheer so you can see through it and they do the opening song with it down. It comes down again and they play a movie and play behind it. I don't think the Crowd in London really understood the meanings behind the movies, and they also cheered at some weird points. Cheering at a bomb being dropped and blowing up was kinda weird, but not nearly as weird as when it showed Pres. Bush dancing and there was a cheer. In Detroit the whole place erupted into Boos, basically same in T.O but not nearly as loud. Very Scattered Boos in London. Maybe we're just too polite as Canadians to say how we really feel? either way it was kinda weird. After the Curtain came back up Trent and the boys unleashed the fire again. Trent actually came down off stage and to the Guard Barrier for part of "Piggy". The crowd surged toward him and I think everyone will have messed up camera phone shots. It seems like everyone and their mom tried to get shots of him with their phone. After "piggy" it was on to "Only" I figured that this would be a big hit, but didn't seem that way. Maybe everyone was a bit tired because the show was intense. But didn't get the reaction I expected. hey I loved it so that’s what matters right. I'm also glad they played "Everyday is Exactly The Same". I don't think it was on the Det. or T.O play list, so I was happy it was there. Not a huge reaction though. The biggest reaction came for "Hurt" Trent did it solo with just Piano (to start with) again. Lighters filled the air and you could hear the crowd singing along. I was one of the ones that was badly out of tune but didn't care. An amazing song that has fit my mood lately. On to "The Hand That Feeds". After the reaction for "Hurt" it was going to be tough to match it. But when it kicked in I would say the crowd got right into it and sweaty bodies began crashing into one another again. The song sounded great the crowd roared. On to the final number of the night. "Head Like A Hole” got the biggest reaction of the night. I think everyone realized it was the final dance and gave it their all. A massive way to end the night ....once again at the end they smashed their instruments. Aaron smashed his guitar over alassandro's keyboards then used the leftovers to do a number on his amps. Trent wrecked guitar #2 and left the pieces scattered over the stage. I can safely say this is the first time that I have ever seen a front man wreck two guitars in a show. the House lights came on and everyone filed out. What an amazing show....as I walked home I reflected on the show. I was just amazed, everything from the lights (which were some of the best I have ever seen) to the sound to the fire that NIN preformed with was brilliant. Only prob and I think I have this common complaint about London (I love this city and the people they have both been great to me) is that they don't react enough. There's just not that feeling in the air. Also people in the seats actually sit down for the show. This is a rawk show....stand up. Get in to it. Yell....drink 17 beers and enjoy yourself. I will never understand why they do that here. Ok if you stuck with me thru this your almost done I promise. If you ever get the chance to see NIN.....I would say go......go buy one of their cds....watch the DVD they have out....keep an open mind and check out Saul Williams also. Enough of me now....even I'm sick of hearing myself at this point.

Hey, thanks for all that Cammy. I actually really enjoyed reading it. Now I wish I would have gone to that show. You are really good at reviewing things, you should have your own column. lol. Anyways, so tickets go on sale soon for Our Lady Peace at the JLC. Have you guys even seen them???? I'm not really sure how I'll get tickets, since the presale is tomorrow and I'll be at school, and then when they actually go on sale Friday, I'll be in Europe:). Guess, I'll just have to wait and see. Would you guys recommend to go see OLP?

A clarification on Saul Williams. After listening to his album online and seeing some interviews. I'd have to say he's a poet, which does music. Trust me when you hear it, it makes sense. He's also got a few books out that I might just check out. But once again I say give him a chance. As well apparently NIN (or some members of it) decided to hit a bar here in London after the show. I'm kinda thinking it wouldn't be Trents thing, being sober now and all. But when I find out who was there I'll let you know. I'm kicking myself for not going out after for a beer. I was going to actually go to that bar that they were at, but decided against it. Ahh well....next time right. OLP is coming back to the John Labatt Centre. The pre-sale starts today at five. I'm not sure what the password is, but if your interested just PM me and I'll give it to you. I've seen OLP I think either 3 or four times. It was a while ago. I really liked "Naveed" (still do actually) "Clumsy" and yes I was the one person that liked "Happiness Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch". But they lost me with "Spiritual Machines". I kinda fell out of love with them after that. I'm not planning on going to that show. But we'll see what happens and if a ticket falls into my lap then hey why not. Also on the Bill is Neverending White lights, Jets Overhead, and Pedestrian. Tix will run you $44.25 each. Which in my mind is a lot for OLP, but then again I'm not much of a fan anymore.

I must say NIN was an insane show! Highlights for me were Mr. Self Destruct (been waiting forever to hear that song live!), Sin, and Eraser with the curtain and projected imagines... such classic NIN. I loved the screen, I'm not sure why others didn't appreciate it. I did enjoy the two times Trent actually spoke to the crowd, although the first time he only said "back from the dead" (or something like that...) and introduced March of the Pigs. The second time he spoke was great though, mentioning that he hates postponing shows because Canadian fans rock! I guess that's all I wanted to add since Cammy did such a great job at reviewing the show... although I have to say, I purposely missed Saul Williams because I went to his website before and thought it was complete garbage. My friend who saw his entire performance didn't like it either, she said he did spoken word... so I'm not disappointed that I missed him. But, again, it's all just a matter of opinion.

As for OLP, Naveed and Clumsy were great, but anything past that just didn't sit well with me... but hey if you're a fan, I would suggest going because I'm sure you'll enjoy them, and if you don't go, you may regret it!

Did you guys hear that Pearl Jam is coming to Toronto May 9 & 10! Who's planning on going to either or both of those shows? I'm gonna try to get tickets to both shows because PJ is my favourite band.

I plan on going to at least one of the PJ shows, I got tickets to see the Prodigy (lol....reliving 1997...WOO!!) and Alice Cooper in Oshawa...YAY
finally...this year has had almost nothing so far in the way of concerts, for me at least.

I am like the rest, I liked Naveed and Clumsy but thats about it..i like their new stuff though surprisingly. They got a bit too preachy for me but it seems like they are back to "rock" mode.

As for Saul Williams, hey to each their own. I can say he's not for everyone. But I enjoyed him. But yeah if I haven't already said it enough NIN was great once again.

I doubt I'll be hitting PJ again. I just don't have the cash right now. I saw them twice when they rolled through Canada late last year. But as much as I would like to hear the new material live....just going to have to wait.

On the RHCP website they have sort of a promo video that does contain a very small clip of " Dani California" http://www.redhotchilipeppers.com/news/news.php?uid=141

I caught Dallas Green in Mount Forest (yes, it’s a very small town about 45 min North of Guelph) on Sat Night. It was this tiny theatre. The capacity read 252 as I walked in the Door. The acoustics were amazing in this place. If someone spoke on the other side of the room you could hear them. Dallas sounded amazing. I think it was safe to say that his voice sounded better then on the CD. It's pretty tough for him to be up there with just himself and a guitar (although he was accompanied by his cousin that played piano on a few songs). He handed it and the crowd unbelievably. There were some drunk guys yelling and of course young girls professing their love for him. He took it all in stride. The songs are so well done and just sounded so good. His voice is almost too good. You sit there and can't believe that he's just that good. His solo Cd just went gold in Canada (50,000 units) which is a huge surprise. But a good one. If you ever get the chance to see Mr. Green.....go trust me you will not be disappointed at all. I'm seeing him here in London on Sat again. I and counting down to say the least....

Hey your guys!!!! I am back. It's good to see this thread on the 1st page again. I can't believe we've kept it going for so long, but I am definitely glad that we have :).

Watershedfreak: Actually I didn't go to England, just Scotland and Ireland, but I did eat lots of chocolate anyways lol. I do really want to go to England sometime though, it sounds like it would be a great time.

Cammy: You are so lucky you got to see Dallas, and you get to see him again tonight. That must have been awesome to see him in that small of a venue. Be sure to let us know how the London show goes. :)

As for the Strokes show, I was planning on going. They have recently become one of my new favourtie bands, ever since I saw them perform on SNL. To make a long story short, I got yelled at for asking, I guess b/c I just got back from Europe, and I shouldn't be asking my parents to take me somewhere else. I tried to explain to my parents that I really want to see the Strokes, but they wouldn't listen. I offered to pay for everything, and even asked if I could take the train, but they still wouldn'y let me go. You guys are so lucky that when you want to go to something, you can, well except for if you don't have the cash...but hey that's what a Visa is for, right?? lol. I wish I lived closer to Toronto. I am just hoping they'll change their minds by the time that the Foo's Acoustic tour comes around.

Alright remember how I said I would see anyone if I got a free ticket. Well I put that to the Test Thursday night. I was a few beers deep and got a call around 8:30. It was a friend of mine that was working the show (she works for Sony). She asked me what I was doing I told her basically nothing and she offered me a free ticket to the show that was about to start. I said sure, finished my beer then went to the show. What show was it? Not the worst one out there, but I won't be bragging that I was there. Rob Thomas was in town (you know him as the front man from Matchbox 20) I met up with them and we headed in. He was already on stage. I caught about 7/8 of the show. It was pretty good. Not the best show I have seen, really not even the best show that I have seen this week. But his voice sounded good. He had a good backing band that he seemed proud of. But it was very obvious that the audience was there to see him. He played stuff from his solo album and some Matchbox 20 covers. He re-worked the matchbox stuff which I thought was alright. But the crowd didn't care much for it. I don't think I've ever seen so many done up cougars in my life time. But they weren't exactly the crowd that a big bass jam mid song appeals too. They put up with it and screamed during the hits. But that’s one thing that got me. He had these die hard fans that would have done anything. He prob could have made them do jumping Jacks if he asked. But barely anything from the stage. He came off as cocky and arrogant. It took away from the show. This is too bad because he’s really talented. Not that anyone here would prob catch his show, but there you go my thoughts on it.

I am - Yeah I'm lucky tonight to be able to catch Dallas Green once again. I'm pretty pumped up for it. It should be a killer show. As for the Strokes, I was pretty surprised when I heard that they are playing London. But if I can get a ticket I will check it out. I'm also kind of pumped to see Alkaline Trio. They are here soon too.

Cammy: Haha. That would have been hilarious to see all those cougars lol. That's good that you had a fairly good time though. And thanks for letting me know about the London Strokes show, now I can actually go!!! :)

I'm going to see Aerosmith and Cheap Trick on Tuesday at the JLC. I'm kinda looking forward to it, just hoping Steven Tyler doesn't cancel. I've also heard rumours that Santana might make a surprise appearance, but who knows.

By the way, my computer just crashed and I lost all my foo pics from the lee's and molson amp shows, along with other pics of them and Nirvana. I know this isn't a picture thread, but if you guys could maybe post a few good ones that would help, or point me into the direction were I could find some. Thanks! :)

On the site is says something like "all prices are in U.S. dollars, and we do not ship outside the U.S." Do you guys think this makes any sense???? I mean if the show is in Canada aren't you going to have to ship to Canada??? Any help would be appreciated thanks!!! :)

Jenny, great site!

I never thought anyone would actually put up an entire website about nothing but themselves, how awesome! I love the way you talk about yourself to your audience of your internet fan club about every single thing you experience. I never knew a mid-20s cover-band singer with no career would be so exciting and addicting! I applaud you.

I am so sad that your band broke up and I never got to see them. I'm sure you looked like a young Carnie Wilson up there singing your heart out.

Lots of love!

Ya it can be ordered off Amazon.ca but it says it will ship in 1-3 weeks. HMV doesn't even know if they are going to get it in, they claim that they don't even have it in their system but are looking into it.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am.

Taylor's record is avail as an import on amazon right now. I called a bunch of record stores here searching for it. The indy record store told me that they were getting it next week, Sunrise told me April 4th. So I'm assuming that it's one of those dates. Now here's another question.....maybe someone will know it. Who does distribution for Thrive records in Canada? anyone have any idea? I'm hoping to make the Mod club show.....I'm working on it right now. Anyone in the London area planning on going? If so msg me......

Guess we'll just have to buy the cd....if I can manage to get my hands on it. As soon as somebody finds it somewhere let me know. :) And for those of you who are lucky enough to be 19 and get to go to the Coattail Riders show make sure you take lots of pictures and tell us how the show goes!!! So I see they changed the show to all ages... I would have prefered 19+ just so it'd take longer to sell out. I haven't got my ticket yet because I really have no money. I really hope this show doesn't sell out so if I can come up with $30 I'll be able to make a last minute purchase. If Pearl Jam wasn't playing two shows in May I'd definitely have the money, but I just spent about $150 on PJ tickets so I'm really broke (I have no job either... I don't even know where that money is coming from)

I would really like to go see Taylor's band but I don't have any money and I don't know anything by them... so I'll wait and see. I should see if amazon has any audio samples so I can make a better judgement on whether to go or not.

OK, so I bought Pearl Jam tickets as soon as I read your post. Section 114 came up and I bought em right away cause I was so happy the gig didn't sell out. Then I later checked the chart and seen that section 114 was directly behind the stage.

So, the thing is...I've had friends sit in sections behind the stage at the ACC and they said they didnt mind the show at all. The thing is I don't know if it was directly behind like mine are. Another thing is that the Seating arrangement is West End Concert Stage - 360? So I'm wondering how this differs from a normal West End Concert stage set up?

Ahh well, should be a decent show. Will probably hit the Strokes the next day in London.

Courtney Love has sold a 25% share of Nirvana's catalogue to a music publishing house. When the sale was rumored earlier this year, U2 singer Bono was interested but that fell through. Love hoped to quell any unease about the deal by stating "We're going to remain very tasteful and take Nirvana places it's never been before."

I know most of you are Nirvana fans, so what do you think about this?

My first thoughts are it's too bad Krist and Dave weren't able to obtain these rights. My seocnd thought is hey wait....it's a shame I wasn't able to obtain these rights. I was just a bit short of the fifty million plus that it went for.

I do wonder what their plans are for the catalogue. The whole new places thing worries me a bit. But then again it might be good things. I'd love a live DVD of all the MTV stuff that Nirvana had done. It would also be nice to be able to get Nirvana - Live , Sold out on DVD. It's only avail. on VHS. So who knows we'll just keep waiting.

To touch back on a couple of earlier posts. I guess I should consider myself lucky that I have been able to meet the lovely Miss "I Am Canadian".

I was thinking the same thing...about Krist and Dave. They are the ones who deserve the rights to the songs, not some corporate guys in suits who just wants to sell Nirvana for every last dollar they can make off of them. But then again, I'm the one who will be first in line if they release anything new, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining. I already have Nirvana - Live , Sold out, on VHS of course, but I don't mind that it's on VHS. It just takes you right back to the 90s lol.

Thanks Cammy, I know don't about you considering yourself lucky lol. It was awesome meeting you too though.

I think i'm just going to wait until the show to pick it up. That also works for me because I will get paid the 15th and actually have money. I hate the first of the month....rent and student loans kill me each month.

I also am pretty pumped for the next couple of weeks. I love that Concert season is gearing up also. Man in the next two weeks I'm hitting a massive amount of shows.....tonight The Trews out of town, Tomorrow The Trews here in London. Next Wednesday - Taste Of Chaos, A local show the next night. Sam Roberts!!! You lucky devil!

I am Lucky.....I am very blessed in this life. I must have done something very good is a past one. I've actually had the pleasure of hanging with Sam Roberts at this very venue. He was playing a much bigger venue (about 1800 people) the same night as The Dears were playing Call The Office (the venue I will see him playing in soon) They are both from Montreal. So Sam bumped up his set time and The Dears pushed theirs back. I was waiting for the Dears to came on and My buddy tapped me on the shoulder and Pointed out Sam standing there waiting also. I went back and intro'd myself (we had met before but I'm sure he didn't remember me) We talked for a bit then I went and bought him a beer. I stood the entire show with Sam and afterward talked to him so a couple of minutes. It was killer. I saw him a few months later and the people I work with and his band ended up at the same barafter he played a show here. I had been told by the record company that they were going there. I hung out with them all night. They are all the nicest guys out there. I'm pumped to see Sam again and who knows....maybe we'll end up at the same bar again.

Ohh Sam Roberts Good!! I just think the guy is one of the nicest guys out there. Behind the scenes on friday was very kool. Apperently Sam doesn't think much of the Much Music Vj's. Sam being Sam didn't slag them too much. Just said that they are very different on Camera then off. But to the important part. The show. He's playing small venues to start this tour. It's the smallest venue I have ever seen him in to be honest. It was just such a great show. I don't know if I can do it justice. I must also say I was more then a few beers deep at the show (my good friend and I had a good time before the show) But I can say if you ever get the chance to see Sam do it. I'm a big fan of not only him but his music. Also The new record is very good.

Ok...countdown continues to Tomorrow and Taylors show. One question.....Mod club very hot during shows? Just wondering because I don't want to sweat my ass off. I'll just have to dress light and then bring a change of clothes for the ride home. Worst thing ever to be soaked and sit in a car for two hours.

Leafsguy: I still went, I just wound up having extras

I am C: I'm trying to think up a good response to your PM! I'll write you back today...

Last night: WOW!!! It was pretty amazing. I am usually a little wary about seeing a band when I haven't heard ONE of their songs, but I had a hunch that I would not be disappointed and I definitely was not. (It was the same way when I saw Jackson, so I shouldn't be surprised).
Taylors kit was right up front in line with the other guys, and the place was not full at ALL!! (most likely due to the fact that there was a Franz Ferdinand/Death Cab show last night as well). We first got there around 6:30 and were going to grab something to eat, but we saw Taylor just hanging out in front of the venue taking pictures with people so I parked and walked over to the venue, but by that time he was already inside...Ted and I waited and he finally came back out, but when I asked him for a picture, our camera battery was acting funny! WAH WOH. He was sooooo fucking nice and was like "oh no! don't worry, we'll be back in a bit, just grabbing something to eat" so Ted and I were like...ok. We ran into Amanda (Wattershed Freak) and her bf Steve, and told them we were waiting for Taylor to come back....Jimmy Tango from the board chatted with us for a bit too, but no one wanted to wait it out with us...ha! 2hrs later after standing outside he comes back and we get our pictures so it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! I also managed to get rid of my tickets for $20 each and I think at the door they were selling for like $10....oops! Inside waiting, who comes up to me? Cammy! It was awesome. I really enjoy meeting people from the board, putting faces to names that I know now from this thread! haha. The show...RULED. They were really tight and seemed to be really having a good time. Taylor is awesome as a front man, I really like his banter ("this is my version of the canada...anthem...country...song...thing...NATIONA L ANTHEM" then they go into YYZ...ha) and his voice is really nice. Their songs are great from the first listen, unfortunately since I was outside for so damn long, the cd's sold out so I'll have to get it from Amazon ...now. They only did one foo song, which was Cold Day In The Sun which was fine by me, and they came out for an encore and did Hotel California. They played for about an hour and I was sad when it was over...i wanted MOREEEEEEEEEEEE. The crowd was awesome too, it was laid back and not even boiling hot in there, even though it was all ages there was no pushing and retardation. LOL. A GREAT SHOW.....!!!

Alright so I went to the show and got some video on my digitial camera. I've uploaded one clip and I'll do the rest when I have the time.

I finally met Taylor! My sis and I went to the Edge before the show and got pics with him and met him again after the show. He was so nice and down to earth it was VERY cool...oh and the show kicked ass

So here ya go (I hope this works...I don't really know how these things work)

Alright....man what a week it’s been. Monday night was killer. My good friend and I made the Trip down the 401 to catch the Coattail riders show. I met up with my old roommates and not a shock here it was at a bar. So a few pitchers later (for me and my former roommates, my buddy was driving so he just had to put up with us). I headed down to the show and first thing I did was pick up the CD. I have to say I really like it. I've only had time to listen to it a couple of times so far (so many CD's I need to get caught up on right now). It was pretty funny at the show. They packed all of us drinkers off to the side then left 80% of the floor open. Yeah Guess I couldn't have stood there and had a few beers. But really...what's Rawk and Roll with out a couple of beers right. I think Jenny summed up the show very well so no need for my two cents. It was also nice to meet her and her BF. They seemed a little shocked when I walked up, but after the initial intro's everything was cool. It was killer to meet them and chat. Hope I wasn't too intoxicated at that point to leave a horrible impression. Anyway a killer night to say the least.

Then Tuesday night I managed to get myself on the guest list for Billy Talent at the Horseshoe in T.O. So it was back down the 401 once again. To hit that show. Once again a few beers before the show. But yeah what a show!! I've seen BT I think four times before...maybe five. Anyway they don't ever disappoint. The new material is very good. You'll be able to hear it across the nation at 5 pm on your radio (trust me every radio station in Canada has to wait till then, that was an interesting conversation the other night) but yes it was very hot and sweaty in the Horseshoe, but man.....BT...Just so good. I can't wait to see them again, and hear the new record.

Yes I Am I have met Dallas on a few Occasions. What you see with him is what you get. Every time I've spoken to him he's been exactly what you see on stage and off. He's a truly nice guy and one of the best voices I have heard.

So I guess we sit and wait for the Acoustic tour now....

DoubleM, I know you were asking a little while back if there were still tickets available for The Strokes at the JLC, and I think there are.

As for anyone who has been to the JLC, how early do I need to get to the show if it starts at 8 if I want to be in the front on the floor?

Cammy
April 30th 2006, 06:20 PM
If the show is at 8 the doors will most likely be at 7. If you want to be right up on the rail I'd say be there right at 7 when doors open. It shouldn't be too tough to stay up there for the show. I'm assuming a Strokes crowd will be rather tame.

I was thinking about hitting this show but probably won't be anymore. Plans did not fall through very well and I'm sort of broke. That wont stop me from buying Radiohead tickets tomorrow though.

I'll get tickets. I got pre-sales for tomorrow.

When I bought tickets to Tool at the Hummingbird Centre me and my roommate had to split a 60 dollar membership to get presales to see Tool. Fortunately, for me when I found out Radiohead was playing there it made my "Circle of Friends" membership more useful because I will also get seats to see Radiohead. 30 bucks well worth the purchase.

You bought the CoF membership for Tool? I was going to but thought I'd try my luck with the public on-sale date. Luckily I got tickets, however, they are row WW on the balcony... at least I'll be there. You're lucky that you can use the CoF membership for another concert, that most definitely makes up for the $60.

Which show you going to 9th 10th or both? I'll be hitting the first show.

To the other guy, yeah I bought CoF and after I bought the Tool tickets I realized how it was very worth it. I tried to buy more Tool tickets on the day of the general sale but I could not get one pair. They sold out in under a minute which is rediculous. Now that I can get Radiohead presales with CoF its paid off tenfold. Considering I split the membership with a buddy so it is only 30 bucks was pretty gool.

I forgot where my seats are for peal jam but I know I'm in the middle section...and the closest section and I think row KK. Can't wait, I don't believe it is only a couple days away.

Yeah Tool is in a high demand at the moment. But maynard issued a statement about it all....

Maynard has heard the fans complaints about the shows selling out to fast and issued this statement…

- Keenan posted a statement at the band’s website explaining that the band is doing a full tour at the end of summer that goes almost everywhere. “These are just a handful of warm-up dates,” says Keenan. “There’s nothing much we can do to outwit the scalpers. If you have patience, just don’t buy the tickets from them. Just wait until August. Screw them.” The singer rants, “If I could design a virus that would leave scalpers totally impotent, mute, and penniless, I would. Same goes for lawyers.”

So Looks like an Arena Tour come August, sure the ACC will not be near as good as The Humingbird Centre. But take what you can get right.

I've never been to the Ricoh Coliseum, but I have heard the sound isn't the best there. But I think that basically happens with every rink. I know that the Death Cab For Cutie/Franz Ferdinand show had a lot of sound problems there.

Best of Luck with the free show Sat. afternoon. There's going to be a lot of kids and even more madness. Isn't the Fall Out Boy show General admission in the Seats that night also? That’s one reason why I was staying away from it. I'd end up kicking the hell outta some 15 year old and feel terrible about it after. But have fun at the show and let us know how it’s was.

So my phone rings at 3:57 pm yesterday. I was sitting on my couch eating a tuna sandwich watching "Room Raiders" on MTV Canada (yes I know that's sad, but those people are so dumb. How can you choose someone to date due to what their parents have given them? It just blows my mind) Anyway back on track here. I pick up the phone and my buddy asks me what I am doing. Since my night was prob going to consist of sitting on my ass I answered "Nothing.....why?". He goes on to tell me that he just got handed Pearl Jam tix...and asks if I want to go. I said of course...because I'd be an idiot not to go right. He's like good, because I'm in your parking lot let’s go. I grabbed my sandwich (like I was going to leave without it) and grabbed a coat and bam we are heading down the 401. I got there a couple hours before show time so it was time to find a bar and get a beer. My old room mates were actually going to the Jays game (I guess its like $2 for the nosebleeds on Tuesdays or something like that) So we met up with them for a quick beer. Then it was off to the show. I caught the end of My Morning Jackets set (most of you prob remember them from the 2003 Arrow Hall show) Anyway they didn't impress me at Arrow Hall. But the record they released last year was touted as one of the year’s best. I haven't heard it yet but now after hearing them I'd like too. They were pretty good. They finished up and there was about a 25 minute wait for PJ to take the stage. I'll post the set list at the bottom of this marathon. But opened with two new songs, the latter being World Wide Suicide. They both sounded very good. Actually the entire set was good. I personally had to laugh when Eddie asked if Doug Gilmour still played for the Leafs and then when he was told that he didn't anymore replied "well that’s the problem then". Personally not being a diehard PJ fan I loved hearing Given To Fly and a sing long known as Better Man (the crowd took over most of the song which was pretty electric). I love Do the Evolution so when I didn't hear it at the past two shows I was at I was a bit disappointed. But they played it last night so I was pretty happy. They jammed out Jeremy and Alive which also was pretty kool. The house lights came up for Rockin In The Free World which is always a treat from Pearl Jam with My Morning Jacket joining them on stage for it. Then the closer Yellow Ledbetter. What a night and a show. Can't wait for the Bootleg.

Set List: Severed Hand, World Wide Suicide, Life Wasted, Marker In The Sand, Given To Fly, Better Man, Even Flow, Unemployable, Garden, Sad, Corduroy, Present Tense, Daughter, Grievance, Not For You, Inside Job, Why Go

1st encore: Do The Evolution, Jeremy, Come Back, Alive

My third time seeing them in like 8 months and it was amazing. Loved the new songs and they translated well live, Come Back being my fave of all the ones they played.

Hey, the Strokes show was amazing!!! I got their early because the Strokes were suppose to be doing an interview outside. When we got there we waited, then heard that they were going to do the interview inside instead. Anways, so once my friend and I realized that we weren't going to get to see the interview, we decided to just go walk around. So were we walking down the street, and these girls tell us if we want to see Julian to just look in the window. So of course we did! And he was in there doing the interview. By the way, I saw you in there Cammy, but I don't think you recognized me lol. That's alright though. So we waved to Julian, and there was this girl outside trying to get Julian to play a song for her. I think we must have been distracting Julian though because Cammy you came right in front of me in the window, and then I couldn't really see anything. Some other guy did the same thing to the other side of the window. Sorry Cammy if we were distracting Julian, I was just excited b/c it was my first time every seeing Julian. You are so lucky you got to meet him and shake his hand!!! But I has happy because once Julian finished the interview, he looked out and waved and blew kisses at me!!!

The Concert!!
So we got in there and got a spot on the floor. I wasn't really a big fan of the opening band, The Most Serene Republic. The singer ruined it for me, the rest of the band was pretty good though. I swear my friend and I stood behind the 2 tallest guys there, but it actually turned out to be a good thing. They were super nice, and they were from Toronto, actually I think it was Thornhilll (does that sound right?). Anyways, we were in the third row of people on the floor, and once the Strokes came on the crowd really started to push. I basically held on to this guy from Thornhill who I didn't know at all the entire time the Strokes were on so I didn't get separated from my friend. I didn't mind hanging on to him either though lol. It was my first time on the floor so it was good that my friend and I stood behind these guys or we would have probably had trouble staying where we were. They were so nice, and that guy kept on asking me if I was okay. I wish more people were like that at concerts. Anyways, the show was amazing, the Strokes are a great live band, they sound the same as their CDs but way better. I'd name off all the songs they played, but I honestly can't remember everyone, but they played a 4 song encore which was a bonus. I think they play about 1.5 hrs in total. So if you ever get the chance to see the Stokes, go!!!! That's all I have to say.

Hey sorry I Am, didn't mean to miss you. Julian was a very nice guy but apperently had a problem with people watching him. The interview first was supossed to be outside then was moved inside at the bands request. As for us coming and standing in front of the window that was a request of the Record Company rep. They were worried about the one girl that was making the request. Personally I don't get it but ok, whatever. So sorry about all of that. On the plus side yeah Julian was a nice guy. Glad to hear you had a killer time at the show from what I heard it was fantastic.

I went to both PJ shows and have to say the second show was fucking unbelievable! It just killed the first night. State of Love and Trust!!! AHHH!! One of my all time favourite songs! Cinnamon Girl was a nice surprise, but the highlight of the night was during Fuckin Up when Eddie tripped over the amp and just sat there drinking his wine... gotta love his giggling during YLB too. I simply am stunned, I've seen them 5 times and I just can't get enough. I really hope this isn't their last tour (damn rumors have got me all worried).

I hate that I'm seeing Tool on Tuesday because I'm going to be going into that concert with Pearl Jam fresh on my mind, and I doubt Tool will top it (Pearl Jam is favourite band and Wednesday's show was the best show I've ever seen), so I feel kinda bad... oh well, it was like this last year when I saw Audioslave just a few weeks after PJ and everything worked out, so I'm sure I'll enjoy the Tool show tremendously.

Umm, go to the Hummingbird Centre's website and they have a number you should call. You should probably do it soon because alot of people tried to sign up before the Radiohead tickets went on sale but they stopped selling memberships because they were getting too many.

Its 60 dollars for the membership but me and my roommate split on it when we bought the Tool tickets. I got AMAZING tickets to see Tool and even better tickets to see Radiohead. It is definitely a worthwhile investemtn and considering that all these big concerts that are happening at the Hummingbird Centre sell out in less then a minute it is a worthwhile purchase.

All I'm going to say is that it will be SUPER TOUGH to get tickets through General Sale. Tool sold out in less then a miniute and Radiohead's two shows sold out just as quickly. Scalpers will be all over this concert likt the other two I mentioned. Some would say that the Foos aren't as big as the other two bands but I think this show will definitely sell out super fast. The only downside is that I think the Circle of Friends Pre-sale is only 2 tickets.

Hey, so I leave the postboard for one day, and I miss the acoustic announcement!!! So, what exactly is this "Circle of Friends" thing? I've been waiting forever for this show to be announced, and I don't want to miss it. I can't believe how much the tickets are, plus service charges. Is it because it's such a small venue? Do you guys think there will be a Foo Fighters presale?

Anyways....so the Fall Out Boy show. Overall, it was okay. The first band was October Fall, they were okay, but the singer was way too conceited. Then From First to Last came on. They were a little too heavy for me. Then the All American Rejects came on. They were the best out of all the bands. They sounded exactly like they do on CDs.The only bad part about when the All American Rejects were playing, was that my friends and I got soaked because the people behind us threw water on us. I guess they were pissed that we were standing up. I mean that's what you do at rock shows, you stand up. Plus, everyone if front of us was standing. So then they left, and then when Fall Out Boy came on they stood up, hypocrites. The people there weren't very friendly, they were much more friendly at the Strokes show at the JLC. The sound was good though, but the overall atmosphere of the show was not so good.

When, I bought the Circle of Friend membership I was pissed because I was thinking "When am I ever going to use this again? This venue only does artsy stuff". Who would have guess 2 othe rmajor artists I enjoyed would be playing there as well. COF has paid of tenfold.

If you're a member of the Circle of Friends you will be able to get a pre-sale, even if it isn't on Ticketmaster.

They had pre-sales for Radiohead but they didn't even do it through Ticketmaster, they had one girl who worked at the venue take calls from all the Circle of Friends members who wanted pre-sale tickets. So, I wouldn't worry about it. One way or another if you paid the 60 bucks to get a crack at pre-sales you will most likely get em.

I asked about the COF membership and she said that IF there is no presale for FF they will gladly refund the membership price....so at least thats good but I really hope they are still coming.......AND even though she wasn't able to confirm/deny she really made it seem like they are coming.

Kiddies, kiddies...stop worrying. The gig will be Aug 23rd at the Hummingbird Centre. No, I don't have confirmation on this but the old Ticketmaster page should be enough. It was a mistake on Ticketmaster's part putting up the page. I'm sure an announcement will be made soon.

What you should be worried about is getting tickets. Tickets to this show will go SUPER FAST. Its going to be a scalper's heaven. I think we should organize somethign in which people on the board buy as many tickets as they can and sell them to others on the board who don't get tickets during pre and general sales.

SOOOOO....Long time no typing my fellow foo fans! I haven't been on the ol' message board in nearly 6 months for no reason at all. I decide to check it out this evening and what do I see? This thread is STILL GOING??? I had to check and saw that the last time I even posted in here was at page 35 or so and I was mentioning the possibility of my next foo trip. After stumbling through a few pages of banter I quit and just jumped to the end of this thing.

ANYWAY....I just wanted to say I made my trip to Detroit late last year to see Dave and Company followed by going to Cleveland the following day to see the show again. (what can I say? I have issues...) I don't know if any of you people went to either but both were given a thumbs up by me.
