I know I was getting sick of the crowd surfing too. Mainly because I am not strong enough to hold anyone up and almost had someone fall on me.
I posted a few pics in the photo section but here are some more.

It took me about 20 takes to get a decent one of Pat Smear. He stays in the back a lot. But really fun to watch!

Times Like These. This is pretty shakey, as I was getting knocked around. It's also not the whole thing. You'll see why! lol This was also the first time Dave came to our side, so everyone freaked!
Sorry, but you can hear me singing a bit :p As well, you can hear me laughing and saying "oh my god"....that's when I had to stop filming. lol

For those who missed it you missed a great show. Yes it was a set list that we saw in 2005, but still a great show. It will be the last time we see them for a few years.
What a nightmare to get off the island. The two hour wait just to catch a ferry was def. a low part of the evening. But would I do it again to see Against me! & the Foo? Hells yeah! Only two ferrys running people to and from the island which was not near enough. But so be it.
Okay just one thing I have to get off my chest. I understand that people are shorter than others and it sucks at a show like that when you are short. I'm a 6'0" tall guy. So normally I don't have a problem seeing the stage (sorry for anyone who is caught behind me). But when you decide to get up on someones shoulders and stay there for half the show you block many other peoples view of the show. Get up there take the pic that you want, scream at whomever or show your saggy milk bag tits. Great !get that done and get the fuck down! I spent half the show trying to look around some stupid broad that was too fucking dumb to realize that there were thousands of people behind her trying to see as well. You ask why I didn't just move? Good question. If I could have I would have. But it was rather packed. Others around me agreed that it was stupid that she was up there. I get that she wanted to see, but when you do something like that think of maybe someone elses expense. Quick being so fucking self centred. I'm pretty sure that it was no one on this board and this rant is not aimed at you guys. I just have to say it. Thank you for putting up with this.

Amazing show!!!!!! Pretty sure dave was drunk from the get go! lol He climbed up onto the side of the stage with guitar in hand. I got an excellent shot of him, as he was directly in front of me! If he fell, he would have landed on me and 'Melly-foo-ous'.

The two hour wait just to catch a ferry was def. a low part of the evening.
I had to drive back to London after the show. I didn't get back here until 4:30! I was cursing Branson the whole way home.
I wanted to seriously punch some people there too. Two girls almost got in a fight right in front of me. One girl was getting pissed that she was getting pushed . Then before the Foos came on, there was a girl and a guy who were so drunk that they could barely stand up. Some people are morons.

Ya, I know. I saw someone get carried out before the Foo's came on. must have been the same person you saw. There were these 2 asshole guys trying to scam thier way to the rail. Some girl behind us threatened to call security on them, and they knocked it off. They were smoking and holding thier smokes up in the air, and the ashes were falling on peoples heads. Fuckers.
The wait for the ferry was insane. We stuck around the stage for a bit because we knew that even trying to run for it would be impossible. I tried to get a set list, but Sean and Beebee didn't pay me any attention while screaming thier names and yelling for a setlist. lol :p ha ha Gotta give me credit for trying!
We got to the ferry line at 11:30pm and we didn't get on the fucking thing till 1:15am. It was freakin cold too! I got home at 2am. Thank god I live close. If I had a boat I could of taken that, as I live near Woodbine beach! I could have made some serious money shuttling people back! lol
I would totally do all that over again though! :D

Yeah it wasn't a fun drive back to London for me as well. It was 4 AM when I finally got back to my place. But I would do it all again.
What really sucks is thanks to the D bag that pushed Noel on Sunday our London Oasis show has been postponed to Dec 15th. At least it wasn't cancelled. But I was still pretty pumped to see them. I guess I'll just have to wait. I just want to know how at any time did this guy not come to realize that jumping on stage and pushing someone in the band was a bad idea? If he dives into the crowd they tear him apart. If he stays on stage some roadies get to let go on him. It's just not a great idea. What if this happend to Shifty? or Nate? I feel bad for the Oasis fans that got there show cut short thanks to one moron. People are idiots.

I wasn't at the Sunday show, but I have seen the footage. What an idiot! Well, he had a court date yesterday (a bail hearing). He appaerently lives in Pickering and his name has been published!(DJ's on the edge got a hold of his info! ha ha) Good luck to him in not getting his ass kicked!

This show was fucking amazing! I saw the Foos this past March when they played in London, and it was so awesome that I had to come to Toronto to see them again. They played a lot of great songs and it was definitely one of the best shows I've ever been to.
After Bloc Party left the stage it got kinda crazy since most of the crowd stayed in order to get up as close to the stage as possible. I was squeezed against other people for the next 30 minutes, but luckily we had more space once the Foos came on. I saw the people trying to go to the front. As well, a girl chugged vodka from a water bottle just before the Foos came on and started passing out during the show (falling all over me), but luckily her boyfriend took her somewhere else. Other than that everything was enjoyable.
I noticed a lot of crowd surfing but not too much moshing, the crowd was really calm and mainly standing in the same place the whole time. I want to say a huge thanks to the 2 people who found and rescued my glasses after a crowd surfer accidentally kicked me in the head! My glasses flew to the ground, but people nearby moved out of the way and these 2 awesome people found my frames and lenses (with the lenses being knocked out of the frame). I managed to reattach one of the lenses, but someone gave me some gum so I could temporarily hold in the other lense for the rest of the show! Thanks to these people I could see the rest of the show fine and avoid the $200 for new glasses! I just brought them to the optometrist yesterday to straighten them out and everything was fine. If you are on here I just wanted to say that I'm grateful!
As everyone else has been saying there was a huge wait to get on the ferrys leaving the island, but I got back to the hotel at 1:30 AM, passed the fuck out, and then drove home to London the following afternoon. Overall an awesome time for my first outdoor festival show!
I've been discussing this before on the FF BBS...Dave said towards the end of the show that after the tour is done they're going home to work on a new record! I'm totally stoked that they have plans for a new record and, even though we aren't sure when it will come out, I'm looking forward to another kick ass Foo Fighters album!
As well I'm sorry to here about what happened to Noel the following day, best wishes for a fast recovery!

I'm pretty sure Dave and the boys are taking time off for a bit. But he has also said that they have new material ready and waiting to be recorded for a new album; but they are not going to record this for a few months though (up to a year or more is the rumor). Just got back from Toronto. Had an amazing time with TIFF, wine country, getting stuck big time on the 401 twice, once due to a shooting  and on the way to the airport due to two accidents - fun  (I'll never complain about traffic in my town again) and of course the freaking amazing V-fest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
Nessie, you are awesome, girl! Thanks to you we made it to the rail for the Foos! And so much fun to share the excitement with another Foo fanatic. Not the best Foo performance I saw this year, that goes to Seattle where they played Aurora, but the most fun by a mile, so great to be up close and going crazy with the crowd (my sister thinks we're both nuts, Nessie :D ).
The trip home was pretty long, though, got to bed at 3:30 I think. But I'd do it all over again.
MGMT was fantastic too, highly recommended to anyone who gets the chance to see them.

Well Dave didn't say when they're recording the new album, unlike a couple of years ago when he said there were recording a new one in March 2007. I hope that they put it out sometime next year, but I totally understand if they need to take a break from touring and recording in order to delay the record. All I know is that by the time they record they would have been writing it for a long time so its going to be kick ass!

KOL was amazing. What a crowd in there. They knew every word to every song. The energy was amazing to say the least. Tickets were no where to be found. Scalpers didn't have anything at all. I was offered $400 for my ticket outside the door. I spoke with a friend who was offered $500. Which is nuts. This tops it because I was only offered $350 for my Lees Palace ticket for the Foos a few years back. Overall the show was great and be sure to check out the album "Only By The Night". I can safely say that it is my favourite of this year.

Anyone goin' to Edgefest 09 this year?
Meh....still debating. I love Alexisonfire. But not sure if it's worth going for 1 band that I like. Billy Talent are okay. We'll see. I have no money to buy tickets right now anyway.
It never sells out, so if I decide to go, I'll be able to still get tickets later.

I wasn't really a Billy Talent fan, until I saw them live, but saw them twice now, phenomenal live!

yeah....none of those bands do anything for me (I have seen Billy Talent live though, many many years ago before they were known and they were LOUD and rocked...I'm just over them) so I won't be going...I hope Metallica come out this way though, they've already been out west

I've seen Billy Talent a number fo times from small club gigs to full arena shows and they are worth the price of admission. Fire in AFI and really you'll get your $50 worth. I think its a good line up (No STP & Linkin Park) but for that price a good value for your dollar.
Nothing on 'Tallica coming around here yet. But you figure they will at somepoint. Coldplay playing the Rogers centre blows my mind as well. I know they are big but not that big.
I caught The Parlor Mob at Tattoo last night. Great show!! If you like Zep (how could one not?) you'll dig this band. So give them a listen!

So you going to Edgefest Cammy? I bought mine yesterday. There's a group of my friends going, between 3 and 8 of us.
At least people will have a chance to get tickets for Coldplay, they're bigger than ACC, but smaller than Rogers Centre, in my opinion. Anyone thinking of going? I might.
I also got tickets to Russell Peters, he's too funny!

I imagine I will be at 'Tallica as well. But it's way to far away to think about. The summer is huge. KOL, Springsteen, Slipknot, Rise Against, Rancid, Counting Crows, Kiss, OLP, STP, Hip, Offspring, Leonard Cohen, Billy Talent, AFI, Metric, alexisonfire, NIN, Janes Addiction, Street Sweeper and that's just off the top of my head. There I'm sure will be more. So plenty to keep you busy until 'Tallica.

the only band out of them I'd wanna see is KISS, and they are playing Casinorama. I'm sorry, but that's just WRONG.
I can not see KISS at Casinorama, thats where all the old bands go to die. :(

Also got tickets for John Butler (my favourite after Foos) at The Phoenix on July 6, my 21st birthday! Check him out! From Australia, awesome guitarist! http://www.johnbutlertrio.com/audio.php they have a music player on the right side. Goooooood stuff!

Anyone going to STP next week? Seems like tickets are sold out - I could use 3 if they're out there
In the meantime - if you're in Toronto come out to my CD Release gig at the Horseshoe this Thursday, July 2nd. $5 cover + a FREE CD!
check out our site and tell us how much you like/hate it and the music, and how much I do/don't look like Dave Grohl

My parents being the degenerate gamblers they are got me and my friends a couple of free tickets to the show. I saw STP open up for RHCP back in the day and was blown away. But apparently they are terrible on this tour.

I assume you have the email by now but if you dont get it in time PM me and Ill give you the password.
Apparently there is a limit to 2 tickets an order which sucks cause I have to buy at least 4 tickets. Ive learned not to try an mess with Ticketmaster and try to get more then their limit either.
Also, I dont think we should change the thread title cause it ain't a Foo gig and it aint the TCV board. Regardless, I'll be talking about the gig in this thread.

Hey it's been a while! Sorry following NIN on the Wave Goodbye Tour took over my life.
I have TCV tickets as well. Here's what I know so far. No record label...yet. But it does look like everyone (labels) have their hand in it. A single should hit radio sometime in November. So we won't really know anything when we hit the show. New Record won't be out until early 2010. None of this is official yet. But looks like that is what is going to happen. If I'm wrong than these things happen.
Hopefully TCV do come into the Edge. But I don't think that they have done any press so far. So I wouldn't hold my breath as of yet. But U2 was just there so never know.
Oh what do you guys think of "Wheels"?

ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING!!!
That was one of the best concerts I've ever seen! Fortunately I was at the rail with a clear sightline to Grohl for 95% of the show. That man is a maniac! Warsaw blew me away! Elephants too!
I got JPJ's bass pick! My buddy and his girlfriend got a setlist!
Awesome! Just AWESOME!
P.S. - No recording from me, too risky. Sorry.
