The anticipation is killing me...this'll be my 2nd time seeing them and I can't wait to hear the new songs live!

That is nuts....but also makes me sad that I sold my T.O. tickets at face value to my old room mates. Hang on before I get yelled at I could just really use the cash. But so be it.
That is nuts for tickets
I am looking for tickets to the London Ontario show and I'm blown away so far. I don't think we can do it. With the price of gas, hotel and these tickets, holy shit!
Detroit was no big deal at all, tickets were reasonable even on Ebay. Maybe Detroiters don't care about he Foo??

This is pretty sad considering these guys are my favourite band and have been for 13 years now, but I'm not even really that excited about this show. They have started playing the same set EVERY night again which only includes 5 new songs. As for the other songs they play I've already seen them 5 or more times. I know they have to play the hits for the "casual" fan who might not have seen them before but they need to think about the hardcore fans who have been going to every show for the decade plus. I mean come on I've seen My Hero 6 times already.

ditto!
p.s. 5 new songs is pretty standard for a band with a back catalog like the foo's have. ...having said that, i'd like to hear some older non-hits like aurora... or even Damn You Damn Everyone hahahahaha

ah...the ol' setlist complaints. I've been complaining about their sets for what seems like forever now, and I doubt it will EVER change. I just accept that there are certain songs I will NEVER hear live, and some that I'll have to deal with (Learn to Fly, Monkeywrench) hearing...BUT seeing Foo live is an experience I'd never give up for having to deal with a couple of shit songs.

Don't get me wrong I am still going and it will still be a great show. I'm just not as excited as I think I SHOULD be. And if they play Big Me (which they are in their current never changing set) I'm launching Mentos just for old times sake.

I 110% agree with you. I would love to hear a few of the ones that weren't such big hits. But really I've never left a Foo show without a huge smile on my face and totally understanding why I love them so much. 15 days to go.....I can't wait to be honest.
Oh yeah....Bro...no mentos please. "Those things hurt man!"

Hahaha...So...I just met up with some girl who wanted to sell me her 12th row tickets for $200/pair. She told me this show was rescheduled twice, and thats why the tickets said NOVEMBER on them...
I told her no thanks, the tickets clearly had the wrong date on them..face value was different on them, and they looked old and grubby. Freaking scam artist. Im pretty sure these tickets were from 2 years ago, maybe the show with Bob Dylan.
Wow...
Anyways...STILL looking for 2 tickets...anyone?

I have 3 tickets to the Toronto ACC show... section 310, Row 9. They are e-tickets and I'm willing to sell all three or even just two for the best offer I get. I live in Sudbury and I can't make it to the show because I'm out of money, life's awesome as a student!
If anybody's interested, please email me and we can make arrangements - I'm willing to put them up on ebay and sell that way, or however. My email is mx_walczak@laurentian.ca
Thanks!

Okay so my event that I was going to go to on the 22nd just got canned. I already sold my T.O tickets to a friend. So I'm in need of a pair of tickets. If anyone has a line on some I will pay and make it worth your while with something we can discuss...

Yeah, I totally agree with everything youve said.
Its shitty that they dont reward old school fans, but whatever. Its a shame they retired "Hey Johnny Park" that was a regular I liked seeing.
I wish all bands would be like Pearl Jam when it comes to live sets.
Anyways, Im saddened that I am not going to see the Foos at the ACC, this will be like the first time I HAVEN'T seen them in Toronto.

Hey,
Nice to see a Canadian thread on here, I just noticed it! I am going to see the Foo's on the 22nd, and I can hardly contain myself! This will be my first time seeing them live! :D I have decent stand seats and I think that I will be pretty close to the acoustic stage. I am hoping that they will pull out some oldies, and play Aurora!

I purchased side view seats on ticketmaster yesterday for the toronto show......there are still some available. i may try to get on the floor.......i'm a Kiss fan, and setlist complaints are common with them as well. many fans see multiple shows, and they rarely change their set list.......very few bands change their set lists night to night.......seems like there's a happy medium somewhere in there......certainly most bands have one, two, maybe three songs in their set that could be interchangeable.....ahhh welll, Resolve, DOA in Montreal????

Trust me you don't want to hear Resolve live it is terrible. Dave's voice just can't handle it. There is a thread in Gen Foo with a link to download a live version if you want to hear for yourself.

Once again I have to thank everyone here. Since I posted that msg I've had a few people offer to help me get tickets for the T.O. show. I've now got tickets to the show and am pumped about it. A friend got into some medical trouble (wisdom teeth and his benefits only cover about half of it) So he's selling me his pair. Thank you once again to everyone here for trying for me!

For those of you who may still be looking for tickets, the Edge radio station is giving away tickets for the Toronto show. Not sure if they are doing it all night or all week. I already have tickets to the show, so I can't be bothered to try and win tickets, but the tickets would probally be really good! I won Grey Cup tickets from this station a few months ago, and they were pretty good seats (they were worth $350.00 each!) Good luck to those who try! :)

Does anyone know whether Section 319 would be all that bad? I don't want to pay for tickets and then end up with an obstructed view, but I don't really care if I'm far away. If anyone has been to a show at the ACC and knows what the seats might be like, can you please let me know??
Thanks :)

It is unfortunate that the foo's don't change their setlist from night to night because they certainly have the catalog to do it. One of the things I love about Pearl Jam is that they switch up their setlist every show.

Not sure about the section, but I think it may be higher up. However, I have been to the ACC for sporting events, and no matter where you sit, you will have a good view of the show. The ACC only holds about 20,000, so it's actually not that huge of a place. You shouldn't be all that worried. :D Enjoy the show!

However, this is my first Foo show, so I personaly could care less what the set list is like. I am just so fucking happy that I get to go! :D LOL

It's a little disappointing that everyone is getting the same set... but seriously, this will be my 9th foo show, and ill still take a generic foo setlist over any other band's show.
i think the only song i REALLY wanna hear that they wont play is Stranger Things. But hey, it could happen.

So, even though this is the "Toronto" gig thread, I am going to post my review/recap of the Montreal show in this thread. It was definitely odd not seeing the Foos in Toronto considering the previous 7 times I saw them were in TO and venues ranging from big to small. I would have loved to see them headlining their own arena gig in TO (and it may still happen) but I got floor tickets to the Montreal gig and couldnt get floors to TO.
Anyways, I was really excited for the gig which is a surprise because I'm not the hugest fan of their new album and have been disappointed by the setlists but as March 17th crept closer and closer I was getting giddy. Anyways, my friends and I walked in halfway during Against Me!'s set and I was disappointed because they already played Thrash Unreal. I saw these guys at Coachella but wasn't a fan at the time so I didn't really enjoy em much. What I saw at the Bell Centre impressed me alot. Ive downloaded their two previous albums and hope I can see them again sometime.
Now the Foos were AMAZING. Loved the double stage setup and the new songs that they played live were solid. Unfortunately they didn't play any of the new songs I really like live (Come Alive, Home and Stranger Things) but I was really impressed by "But, Honestly". It was the typical setlist that they have been playing the last couple dates so I was disappointed because there was no real surprises. Shocked that they didn't play "Keep The Car Running" because they were in Arcade Fire's "hometown" and they even name dropped the band before the triangle solo.
Anyways reading this board definitely has its perks because after "Stacked Actors" my friends and I slyly made our way to the second stage and got great spots to check out the "Acoustic" set. I'm going to try and post a link to some of the pics I uploaded, hopefully it works, but you'll see I had an amazing spot. I took 90 pics that night, which is insane because I only took like 300 pics during my WHOLE trip of Europe, it was deifnitely the closest Ive ever been in a Foo gig. Dave, of course, was hilarious as usual. Making fun of the fans who hadn't been to a Foo Fighters gig before and telling us how Nate bought his first car from his sales of LSD. Great times and easily one of my top 3 fave Foo Fighters shows.
Apparently I can make this album public by posting this link. So hopefully it works:

Summer's End has been my favourite on ESPG from my very first listen. The harmonies in the chorus are awesome. I would love to see this live but I have a feeling it would sort of be like Resolve. A song that sounds good on the album but one that Dave's voice just can't handle live.

Didnt seem to be. He ended up doing on a 5 - 10 minute tangent about the music video and how Pat had told him before they made it that they were going to have fans throwing mentos at the shows if they did it then about Rivers asking him if Weezer could cover Big Me on the Foozer tour. Followed by a recap of the show in Winnipeg where they started playing Big Me and dave got pelted with a pack and asked the crowd if anyone had a lighter cuz he was going to light the pack on fire which led to it raining lighters on stage.. All in all it was quite an entertaining story. and we all know how much Dave loves to have story time.
So now the question is do we bring mentos to Toronto?

No. Remember the part of the story when he said our fans wouldn't be that stupid and that throwing Mentos was so 1996? Really the whole point in telling the story was to say not to throw shit at the band. I like Big Me in the set list....lets keep that way

This was my first concert EVER (London). Some close friends bought my wife and I tickets for our anniversary. Really impressed by the show. Sore throat from singing. We sat a couple rows back sidestage by the sound equipment. Real close except for the accoustic set. Opening acts were good, especially Against Me - LOTS of energy on stage.

Any word on interviews or anything in Toronto, specifically the Edge??? Last time they played in Toronto they didn't put the interview on edge.ca and I didn't know about it and missed them.
Too bad they're playing basically the same set list for the whole tour, but I saw them March 3 and it was amazing - I am so stoked to see them again tomorrow - even if it is the same show. Tomorrow will be my 6th time, so stoked.

.
I don't think so. I listen to the Edge, and 'Bookie' wanted to get the guys in for an interview, but the best he was able to do was to get Taylor Hawkins to do a telephone interview yesterday. It was short, not more then 10 min.
I also pay attention to George Strombolompolous (spelling?) and both of his shows (The Hour, and the strombo show on the edge) and I have heard nothing. He is a fan of the Foo's and has said that he wants them back on his show. I have a feeling he might interview them on his radio show when the Foo's are in Vancouver. I'm just guessing though.
It's a shame though that they haven't done any interviews. :(

OMFG....just got home from the show @ the ACC! That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen! Rush was there; they jammed with Taylor for a bit, while Chris and Dave watched from the side of the stage. Dave was rockin out to Rush; fist pumps and all! it was awesome. Dave told a little story about when he was in Scream they were playing a gig in Toronto and that he played drums with Iggy Pop. Never heard that story before. Also started talking about 'Stompin Tom Conners".... ha ha....hilarious! After coming out for the encore, Chris did a little jog across the stage, and did a fucking cartwheel! It was fucking hilarious! Dave also starting making fun of Chris during the acoustic set, about how he can't play the guitar! LOL :D Dave made a comment to all the 'newbies' at the show...."where the fuck have you been for 13 years?" I just about pissed myself when he said that! (I am a 'newbie')
Wow....I am speechless (litterly, due to all the screaming and singing). That was an awesome show. Same set list as all the shows (except for the Rush bit). I felt it was over way to soon though, even though it was 2 hours. Dave said something like, "If we went on for 4 hours, you guys would piss yourselves because you wouldn't be able to make it to the bathroom on time" or something like that! And I have never seen Dave spit so much; it was kinda gross. :D
All in all, I am now a FOO FAN FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!! I had section 100 level seats, and they were great seats, but I should have purchased general admission floors, becusae I couldn't rock out hard enough in the stands. Well, now I know for next time!
AMAZING!!!!!!!! :D :D

probably one of the worst foo shows I've been too. not the bands fault, they were great as always. but the floor near the stage was probably the worst concert experience I've ever had. i'm used to the moshing and pushing, but people were literally suffocating in there due to a LOT of douche bags who just NEEDED to be in the front but didn't bother getting there ahead of time.
anyways, eventually I made my way to the middle of the floor where I could enjoy the show.
btw... RUSH!!!

Anyone have a set list for the acc show?
Let It Die
The Pretender
Times Like These
Breakout
Learn To Fly
Cheer Up Boys
This Is A Call
Stacked Actors
YYZ (Taylor with Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee)
Skin And Bones
Marigold
My Hero
Cold Day In The Sun
But Honestly
Everlong
Monkey Wrench
All My Life
Big Me
Long Road To Ruin
Have It All (not played again)
Best Of You
This was honestly the best Foo Fighters show I have ever been to even with the boring setlist. Seeing Rush was fucking awesome. And seeing as how I had the advantage of knowing there would be a second stage for the acoustic set I made sure I was at the back so that I was in the front row for the acoustic set. I was literally about 15 feet away from the band. I think the best performances of the night were YYZ (obviously), Let It Die, But Honestly and All My Life. I was a little disappointed in the lack of people who knew This Is A Call and the ones who couldn't sing along to Breakout.

we're a dying breed. those who've been listening since the early 90s.
i won't lie, I do miss the Foos playing to 8000 people in venues like Arrow Hall. a little more intimate and you knew everyone was a fan back then.
I agree the set list was a tad bit done, but then again, this show isn't just for the die hard fans. i got excited when they started play Aurora again early on in the UK tour, seems its all but a memory on the US tour.

Well.... lets just say amazing concert, from what I saw... thanks to all the people pushing at the front of the floor and elbowing I just couldnt take it anymore, some of you probably saw the poor F**k on the side right when YYZ started, yeaaaa that was me, im just really glad i was able to get off the the side to do it and not get anyone. Anyway, long story short, the first guy came up to me asked if i was ok, I said yea, its just really crazy in there and i coulnt breath anymore and just couldnt take it so then another guy came and ask me to come talk to him up the stairs so we walked upstairs he asked for my ticket, asked if i had been drinking, i said no ( truthfully ) and then he proceeded to rip up my ticket, and said we cant have people making messes like that and escorted me to the door where i waited till the end for my friends. Soooooo not so good night..., what I saw was amazing but kinda disapointed in the staff at the ACC for not being very understanding at all, if i was piss drunk and stumbling maby but come on,,, i could help it: :( Wrecked my night:(

That was my only gripe, but it's a small one, I was just relieved he didn't retell the Mentos story he told in London on Thursday...
I went to both and after London was slightly disappointed but last night MORE THAN MADE UP FOR IT. Finally, I got the show I was hoping for. I thought the band energy was better and they genuinely seemed more into it. Having Rush there was icing on the cake...I mean, fucking Geddy Lee, best bass player alive rocking out to YYZ with Taylor - that was damn cool.
Had a great time and made sure to get there early enough to be on the rail by the middle of the catwalk... I felt the crowd was also way better than London's - more people, more into it. Yeah, there were a lot of newbies who didn't know the words, but I don't care, I sang EVERY DAMN ONE for them! Just a great, fun rocking time. Loved it! I hope they come back soon and do either a smaller gig or if it's going to be another big damn rock show, would love to see one with a differing set - but certainly I'm glad I went to both and thought Toronto was a fucking blast!
(oh yeah, and while on the catwalk, Dave friggin' spat on my hand!)

I was singing every word to Against Me! and everyone looked at me. And I was singing every word to the Foo'd and was looked at again. Amazing concert, but what do you expect at an arena show? Thousands of fans who are there, just to be there. It was still one of the best concerts I have ever been to. It was a great first concert for many, and even better one for well established fans. The band played for over 2 hours, and my voice was killing after. Hopefully next time we can see them in a smaller venue.
Did anyone else find it awkward that half the floor was empty? I thought it was ridiculous that every seat was filled but the floor was half full.

I concur with most here - RUSH. Taylor was bouncing like a kid who just got a PS3 for Christmas after YYZ. As an old Rush fan that made the gig for me (and my buddy who's a Rush fan also and it was his birthday).
I've got one major gripe: Why such a long drawn out story pre-Big Me? We heard it at the acoustic gig but beyond that it felt like 10 wasted minutes of Dave at less than his best, banter-wise. I've always loved Dave's stage antics, but all I could think was 'that could have been 3 more tunes'. Even though that realllllllly pissed me off, it was still a wicked show, by one of the best live bands of all time. Too bad about the static setlist, but I'll take it.

5000 times better than the London show and the London show was killer.
I had the best time from start to finish. Couldn't believe it when RUSH came out - killer, I thought my boyfriend was going to have a heart attack lol. Taylor jams a little RUSH every concert...at least he finally got to play with them.

I thought it was AMAZING when Rush came out!! i took a video of YYZ with my cell phone but ...well its a cell phone video! I'll post a link here when I upload it to YouTube. I also have a vid of Dave doing Everlong from London which I'll post too.
WOW. That was a GREAT show, and I am really happy he didn't tell the same Mentos story from London but then again we heard the Iggy Pop story at the Hummingbird Centre...LOL I guess he doesn't have too many stories? But whatever!
It was fun although I can't say I dig seeing them play huge arenas. There's something magical about seeing them in a smaller venue that just gets lost once its so SO massive. When i was on the floor in London i felt so far away (I didn't want to get too close, I'm afraid of mosh pits after the clusterfuck that was QotSA at the Guverment) that I didn't feel connected to the concert...during the acoustic set it was awesome b/c i was right up front but the electric Foo is where its at and it was so....far. yeah, it's a little upsetting the band is big enough to sell out th ACC. I wish it would have even fallen later in the year, I think Molson Amphitheatre is the perfect venue 90% of the time. even the acoustic show would have done alright there.
well I guess we can't really blame Dave too much for retelling that story. Hummingbird was pretty small like 2800 or so people I think. so maybe 20% of the audience had heard it. my friends and I were joking like he tells that no matter what city he's in "yeah so I was playing with Iggy Pop right here in burlingham alabama!"
Also in the future I wouldn't mind if they take Cold Day In The Sun out of the set list. it's a good song, but not one I feel the need to hear every time I see them. last night would be 4 counting the T-Hawk & the coattail riders show.
P.S. Jennyroo jealous you were on the floor (i was in section 104 not bad, but not floor) and that you saw the QOTSA Guverment show... sadly I was under aged for that show. but luckily I saw them at The Sony Centre and they're playing Copps in Hamilton in may.

I as well was stared at by every one around me while singing to Against Me!. I didn't care though! :D
I was almost embarrased to see the floor half empty. I thought that maybe they do that for a reason? Maybe so there is a bit of a 'give' in the crowd in case it gets to full and 'pushy'? Great show regardless! I am def getting floors next time! The acoustic stage was only like 8 or so people deep! :D
EDIT: Well, after reading 'Fooze Fighter's' posts, i guess maybe it wasn't all that empty after all. Sorry you had to experience that! :(

Not so funny story - I was at that QOTSA show, and spent most of the helping my friend protect his tiny girlfriend from the horde. At one point a girl passed out in front of me so being the nice guy I dragged her out and got her to the side. As I did she came to but was leaning hard on my leg for support. Well what if she didn't wet herself and my leg all at the same time! Stupid prat was obviously on something. To top it off after I left her with security and went to wash off my leg (what could I do I just soaked it) when I came out of the washroom there she was piling back into the pit. Arrrgh.

Loved the show, I just thought that the set list was boring and if you want to throw some "old shit" to the fans, "This is a Call" wouldn't be my first choice, how about "Hey Johnny Park" instead?"
I felt like Dave almost talked too much, but I love his humor as always,
I know he loves the city and his fans. RUSH was awesome. I was right up against the rail the whole time in front of Chris and Pat. I kept screaming "play Generator" and "Aurora" but so much for that.
The crowd was pretty good I had no complaints.
If you want to complain about all the space on the floor you can thank the City of Toronto and its new fire regulations which is why the capacity of the floor is half full, they aren't allowed to have more then that.
I hope they come back again before the end of the year and play some different tunes.

In Montreal he spoke of a border incident following the Iggy pop evening.......Montreal show rocked, the crowd was insane(although they only sold the lower bowl)However, the Toronto show was more than I could've asked for. Compared to a lot of other arena type venues, the ACC has awesome acoustics... I thought the show sounded great from the floor and I've seen other shows that sounded good just about anywhere in the building but to each their own.
I hope they do come back this summer, but seriously, for the love of god, change up the setlist!!! I know it's harder with the arena setting, but some variety would make seeing multiple shows WAY more appealing...but I had a great weekend with seeing the Foo's twice and I saw 311 on Friday night, so it was an awesome Easter weekend (there's a band who never play the same setlist twice - but they aren't playing stadiums!)

Having attended the Montreal and Toronto shows I can say that his Iggy Pop story was exclusive to Toronto. In Montreal he spoke of a border incident following the Iggy pop evening.......Montreal show rocked, the crowd was insane(although they only sold the lower bowl)However, the Toronto show was more than I could've asked for. The band rocked, Taylor was amazing playing with Rush, and I absolutely love Alex's solo work in YYZ.....Thanks guys for two memorable evenings!!!! Look forward to seeing you in upstate NY this summer.
I can't remember who said it but when they were saying we have already heard that story they were referring to the acoustic show in '06. Dave told the same story only longer back then.

Hi guys
Unfortunately I’m writing this to you from the hospital. You may have noticed I was not active in the last month; because I have been in the hospital since the beginning of February. Nonetheless I was able to persuade the doctor into letting me out Saturday night for the Toronto show. This was something I was not going to miss because of the situation.
The foos once again were phenomenal and proved that they are the ultimate rock bank. Highlights of the show for me were:
- Chris’ solo during this is a call
- The foos covering yyz
- The rock version of everlong
- And of course Dave’s banter about stompin Tom and how we owe an extra $10 for seeing rush
You will be happy to know I have a recording of the show and will get it out to you fellow fans as soon as possible, after I’m released. Hope you all had a great time at the show, I know I did.
Cheers
Paul

There's a new V-Fest thread, but I can't let this thread die. Its been with us for so long!!
Foo are confirmed for V-fest...its in Sept. here, but they are playing with...like Bloc Party and a bunch of other bands I really couldn't care less about. Bah. :( and $90?!??! I paid $100 to see Foo pay at Bayfest a few years back and they only played for like 45mins. I was extremely ticked off....not to mention the 'VIP' section that I thought I was getting was like a friggin CAGE and you couldn't even see the band!!!
Oasis is the other headliner, so NOT Rage as was rumoured....I like Oasis but I've seen them before.......I'm torn.
I don't know about this V-Fest. Plus getting to that damn Island....BAHHHHH.

AMAZING show.
During the acoustic set Pat Smear reached down shook my hand and gave me a pick. It was after but honestly I believe. I've been going through all the Youtube videos to try and see it but can't find that song anywhere.
I saw them on Thursday in London and Saturday. Both shows were out of this world.
Way to go guys!

damn... thats a shame, I would have killed to see Rage and Foo in the same day. I was dieing to see Rage on their previous dates, but none of my friends had passports, so I couldn't get anybody to come with.
sounds like V-Fest last year. few dozen bands I don't want to see and one I do. glad I didn't go last year, I heard the Pumpkins perfromance wasn't that great.

do festivals usually cost that much? because like compared to 'SARS Stock' being like $25 for 12 hours of music with huge bands... pretty pricey.

I don't know. I generally don't go to festivals so I'm not sure. I'd rather pay to see a band I love play for 2 hours then maybe see that same band play for 45 mins or an hour and a bunch of other bands I have no interest in.

My son just shelled out $350, including $60 camping fee, for a three day music festival in Pemberton. $25 is a steal for any 2 hour show, let alone 12 hours of music.

I have one thats just Dave rocking the hell out on his Dan Armstrong (the clear guitar). I think it's taken from the anywhere but home DVD. anyway if that would be to your liking I got it at a unniversity poster sale in Hamilton, but I'm told the sale is constantly going around to different schools in southern Ontario. might be something to keep an eye out for.

Full V Fest line up is announced www.vfest.ca
I must say that it is a strong line up on the Saturday. I saw The Kooks about a month ago at the Kool Haus and it was a geat show. Against Me! will be killer as well. Then Bloc Party and The Foo. A solid lineup to say the least. Now lets just hope it doesn't take forever to get on a ferry after the Foos wrap up.

Oh, it will! :(
I plan on getting to the docks pretty early in the morning to avoid the insane lines. Apparently, last year the wait was about 4 hours! The ferries run about every 1/2 hour or so. Not sure if they can run any quicker then that due to the small harbour that they run in.
I'll have to make a bee line straight to the docks after the show, as I'm hoping on a plane early Sunday morning to go to Denver to see the boys at Red Rocks! YAY!

Countdown is on!!
Just something i have found out that I figured I would share. As I'm sure we're all aware Metallica is releasing a new album. Because they are so huge they wiill do a long form special instead of doing 6 million interviews. The best of it is who is doing the interview. Dave and Taylor will be interviewing the guys from Metallica. So this should be interesting to say the least.
Where did you find this out? Metallica ain't going to be in Canada for VFest. Their in Europe about to finish the 3rd leg of their European Summer Tour. Yes Tenacious D who has connections to Foo are at the last 2 gigs Leeds and Reading. Dave Grohl in England I doubt it. I should be over in Europe but I had an emergency to attend this week.

You're right Metallica is in Europe. But I have a feeling this might have been recorded a while ago. You're just going to have to trust me on this one. It is happening.

Amazing!!! AND yay for this thread being revived.
I don't think I'll be attending V-Fest....I don't like fests and I've already seen Foo twice this year and the fest-set-list is probably the exact same but without the acoustic stage thingy.
I hope I'm right LOL.

Hey Jenny, you better hope they don't play Aurora or Hey, JP!
It should be good, my brother & his buddy have VIP & Backstage passes... I'm jealous! I've told him to tell Dave (if he meets them) that I'm a huge fan and I'm disappointed I couldn't get backstage... hope it helps...

Dave Grohl was at the Metallica show at the Wiltern Theatre on May 14th . However in the SoWhat magazine. a.k.a. SpiderDan saw Dave back in t he hallway around the dressing room. Not sure if it was before the gig or during soundcheck or after. Only time I know Dave was close to Metallica.

Looks like Dave Grohl will interview Metallica LIVE September 4th on radio's throughout the United States to debut the new Metallica album Death Magnetic. I think that Dave will make a joke about his comments about the album back in late April/beginning of May.

I KNOW...its the first time I'll ever knowingly miss a Foo show in Toronto.
I just can't spend all that money to see them when I know the exact setlist (well...come on why would they change it for this?) and I've seen them twice this year...maybe I need a little break :(

I understand. Just don't have that day after regret. Truthfully have you ever walked out of a Foo show saying that it wasn't worth every penny? Figure I would peer pressure you grade nine style.

Which song? There are 2 studio versions out off Death Magnetic. TDTNC and My Apocalypse. Cyanide was released but as a live track from livemetallica from the Ozzfest show and half of the 3rd leg Summer European shows.

TDTNC is the one I was referring to, but I have since heard My Apocalypse and I dig that one too!!
Cammy--yeah...i know....its true they are always worth it, but if they were playing their own proper show i'd go....V-Fest? Bah. I don't know or could care less about ALL of the other bands on the bill!! if you wanna take me for free i'd consider going....LOL :D

I'm pretty sure it does (on a regular night anyway) as the last ferry to leave the Island is at 11pm.
However, I'm sure that the City extends this time during events/festivals on the island. :) So maybe they will play untill 11pm. :D

When QOTSA where here a few months ago, the edge let it be known that the guys were playing a secret gig 4 days before it was held! ....but I missed the annoucement by a few hours, and by then it was sold out
The edge would be the best bet for info! Where do you think they would play if they were to play a secret gig?

Ya, I had standing. Although it wasn't because I was slow at getting tickets. It was my first Foo show and wasn't sure what the crowd was going to be like. Being 5 foot 2 inches, I didn't want to getting 'stepped on'. lol
Little did I know when I bought the tickets, there was going to be an acoustic set up :( . I would have gone for floors if I knew that.

6. Long Road to Ruin
7. Stacked Actors

Amazing show!!!!!! Pretty sure dave was drunk from the get go! lol He climbed up onto the side of the stage with guitar in hand. I got an excellent shot of him, as he was directly in front of me! If he fell, he would have landed on me and 'Melly-foo-ous'. lol I'll post pics later!
Not bad getting to the Island, but it took 2 hours standing in line for the ferry back to the mainland! DAVE, YOU OWE ME A DRINK IN VEGAS FOR THIS!!! lol

I never thought I would get that close! I still can't believe it!!!! Chis was super adorable! Came out wearing a suit jacket! <3 :)
Before Againt Me came on, I looked over past the gates and I saw Pat roaming around and I flipped. I don't think Melly-foo-ous ever saw anyone run so fast! I misjudged my timing, though and couldn't snag a pic of him. :(
